MTNL 1MBPS + 2 MBPS + 16 MBPS Local ISP
Hi,Let me first describe what I do. I am a freelancer Server Engineer & I Usually work on Remote Desktops, team viewer, Logmein, GotoAssist, RADMIN & all similar Remote control appsI have 1MBPS MTNL Unlimited Connection @999 which works great for RDP sessions but not so great on other apps.I recently took ClassicNet Broadband 5MBPS Unlimited @ 4800/- as it was cheap & run by the local politician of the area. Its only been 2 months since I had this connection there has been alot of disconnections which makes my work harder. Oh! & i also download almost 3-4GB of Data everyday, be it movies or new trial software from Microsoft that i am testing. I do only have limited window of free time when i can download stuff.. & this time is around 2 hours in 24 hours. So i need fast internet connectionI can spend upto 7000/- Rs. monthly for my Internet which includes the 1MBPS MTNL Connection as i want it as backup..I've tried Reliance & Tata Indicom both of them said they cannot provide more than 1.5 mbps connectionNow my questions are1. Any good ISP in and near Jogeshwari West near MTNL Branch of Jogeshwari?2. I have a hosted server with a company in Ontario, Canada, this server has Unlimited data plan (Unmetered 100MBPS Connection) How much would it cost me for a leased line / any similar 1:1 Connection to this server so i can enjoy this Unmetered Connection 3. Any other Options except for Shifting to Canada :PThanksAwaiting your replyAasim

Get a leased line connection from MTNL...that might work(although i don't know what it might cost, maybe the sky??)!!

Well, MTNL Leased Line Tariff is confusing but as far as i understand it, Since i am less than 5kms from MTNL 8 MBPS would cost me Rs.59556/-annually i.e. Rs. 4963 / month (Still under my Budget) They only problem is that i have to pay for full year all together.

Or am i reading the chart wrongly?

Any Leased line Experts here? MTNL Services

You will not get 99.99999% uptime with MTNL. Several ICICI bank branches in Delhi had MTNL leased lines and about 2 years ago they moved to fixed wimax connections from Tulip telecom because of frequent downtimes in their ATMs and branches due to MTNL's frequent downtimes. Leave alone MTNL or any Indian ISP for that matter, you will not get 99.99999% uptime anywhere in the world within your specified budget of Rs 7000 per month. A T1 line in the USA that provides near 100% uptime with SLA comes for $1000 per month and it is only a 1.54 mbps symmetric connection. So 99.99999% is not cheap.Your best bet will be to get a 4mbps MTNL connection which costs around Rs 3800 in Delhi with service tax. Get another connection from say Airtel or any other ISP that is there in your area and then use a load-balancing router to use both connections simultaneously. That MAY work for you.

^ I know... But i need something very close to it. 4MBPS Unlimited in Mumbai is for 9999/- which is a lot, i rather stick to my current plan of 5MBPs @ 4800/- & cry everyday. If MTNL Reduces price of the 4MBPS then i might think about it, but load balancing is too expense to roll out, the Routers for Dual WAN cost a lot.

I've Decided to increase my Monthly Budget from 7k to 10k. I seriously need some good connection option

A 4mbps UL connection from MTNL Delhi is Rs 3499 per month plus service tax. The same plan costs Rs 9999 plus tax in Mumbai. Due to this ridiculous difference, you will not get anything with 99.99999% uptime in for even Rs 10000. Further you will not find load-balancing routers easily in the markets at reasonable price. Most unfortunate thing is that I don't see the situation changing in foreseeable future also. I have already given up on this.Last week, I told a customer in the USA that I can upload no more than 700 MB of data to Amazon S3 from my office in a day because all reasonably priced internet connections in my country are crappy.

Ok, i am doing Visual Route to determine where I am loosing Response times & this is what i findfrom My PC it goes to IPADDRESS.myispl.comthen to another IPADDRESS.myispl.comthen to Australia

No one can provide 99.99% uptime but only in india. There are lots of telecom companies in the world who provide 99.99% uptime to their customers or offer some type of discount during down time. See, tikona leased line customers get discount during down time but chances of getting down are almost less.

I think as I know that load balancing router is very costly to afford for a residential user. It has two features which do not work simultaneously like Auto failure backup and combining two internet lines. When one line fails, load balance switches network to the next one. And about combining to use both lines' bandwidth, if one fails, whole network get down. So, if any one line has little breaking problem, network will go down. Load balance is only good for failure purpose and to balance the load when two servers are connected.

And these are not 1 time tests, I tested many times then posted the fastest one.

So you can see, my business which is mostly in US & Canada is affected very much & i am in desperate need of a solution out of this problem. I have to make a decision by the end of this month.

I am on a Strict budget of Rs. 10,000/- p.m. or Rs. 1,20,000/- p.a
