A good laptop (Budget: 30k)

This is for a friend. He wants to buy a new laptop. Budget is 30k.No particular requirements as he isn't much of a gamer. But still suggest the ones which will perform the best in terms of overalls usage.

Would never recommend Dell. High in failure rate. In fact at my workplace, Dell laptop procurements were stopped a year back due to high failure rates.

Dell is still the preferred brand for non-tekkies because of their after sales prompt onsite warranty. Dell is highly preferred brand among Indian customers. The failure rate of dell is 5% of the whole pu. Still better than other brands ...
Being dealt with ODMs. I can say that all the brands are same crap. They buy parts from ODMs, assemble in china. engrave their brandbrand image and sell it at a premium price. Just the brand image decides the price. Not the quality, all are same quality ...
Some of the ODM that supply boards to these brands you call reputed are Clevo, Compal, Asus, MSI, Quanta etc. The RAM used in 95% of the laptops in the market are from Hynix, screens are from samsung etc etc ...
