Guys..we are falling short of broadband targets set by govt policy...it was that wat prompted mr maran to innovate...anybody replacing him has to meet same targets so no question of going back on wat we already have..its only gonna get better from here..Iam amazed that ppl here are not able to see through his lame attempts (atleast till the time he left) to increase BB penetration..calling him visionary..:O .until now watever he had done was just for the benefit of state telecom giantsIMHO he did nothing exceptional that cannot be done by others..
heh. he had one good thing on his side. he was running a ministry not a private company. so he could have taken bold decisions which could pose problems for his replacements. luckily bsnl is highly profitable and i think MTNL is not doing badly either.

Has the imagination of our members gone dry ? Why not Arjun Singh, after the debacle of quota issue, he can do some startling things on Telecom front, there are many stalwarts in the congress stable. One who might miss the pressident's post could be handed over this ministry as consolation.

1. bandwith quota for unlimited users.
2. low service for premium user's ( becoz they have so much money they can
afford to wait)
3. free broadband for sons and familys of all ministers and politicans.
4. and special quota for lazy burocrats and lousy govt servants ( minus AIIMS students) who are still pain in the ass for AJS...

umm he was told to leave and he submitted his resignation. family matters. i think its related to some actions taken by him which got mr. karunanidhi angry?
yes its abt poll in his own newspaper..i forgot name..dinakaran something.. which showed result as Dayanidhi Maran to be best minister. to which other party members showed objection that he is trying to portray himself as future leader of party. Karunanidhi had asked him not to print the results in paper. yet it was done. so now he cant be best as he is no more minister. LOL.
