whats the end ruling? While applying for bank account, I said I lost my adhaar and its in mail for bank manager and she believed me and took pan card. Two days back, get a call asking me to submit adhaar card because they were closing bank accounts without adhaar card. I told them to wait few days so that I can see todays ruling
today is not about bank accounts. it is not mandatory to link bank accounts. tell her to give you the notification that makes it mandatory or you would be complaining to the higher banking authority.
hdfc has already tweeted that it is not mandatory.

sigh. I dont want direct confrontation because this branch is close to my home and empty af. really came in use during demon days. maybe i'll just close the acc and be done with it. ill give them a visit tomorrow to sort out this issue. I was pissed at that lady because she blatantly said "we're closing bank accounts without adhaar"
now if its a senior citizen or poor people, they would come running to bank to give adhaar since they get their pension directly into bank accs

if a tweet does not exist from the same bank on that article page... try to get a tweet from them. in any case, write a letter to bank ombudsman and complain about how your local branch is harassing you. from my understanding, just asking them to give you the notification from the bank should be enough to get them to shut up.
ask them to give you in writing that your account would be shut down without aadhaar. you really should complain about this branch with the bank.
i am amazed that i have not gotten even one message in any from from yes bank about aadhaar yet. i am waiting for them to push it to retaliate.
