Thanks for u r detailed explanation of channels and how sun tv succeded.No one can beat sun tv.Maran know how to tackle kalaignar tv.I think maran would be happy since he is having a competition,before kalaignar tv no one dared maran and he enjoys it with out any competition.

Many vijay tv fans keep blaming sun tv copy from vijay tv and force ppl from vijay tv to join sun tv,but they forgot vijay tv has copied many sun tv shows before and they have even poached ppl from sun tv before. Rabi bernard, devadarshini, uma padmanaban, swarnamaalya.... and list goes on. Almost all the vijay tv top programs are import of the shows from star plus and star plus import those programs from western channels. Dancing with the stars --- nache balye in star plus -- jodi no 1 in vijay. Airtel Super singer again imported from other channels, even kana kaanum kaalangal they have a similar serial running in star plus for long.

Another drawback of vijay tv is expect few programs in evening they dont have much original content, most of the are repeated programs and the morning slot is filled with chittu kuruvi legiyam selling guy, poli siddha doctor's program and gem stones selling guys program and teleshopping.

Another draw back of vijay tv is though they do some good programs they mostly look like programs for upper class and city people, the channel have less popularity among the other segments of the people.

5 years back Vijay tv is at its best.Because from morning 8-9 there was a show hosted by Mamathi chari(who is hosting Rani maha rani now).That show was simply superb.Many watched that show but suddenly they stopped it.I dont know the reason behind it.Even their news were at its best.Since Vijay tv dared karuna, karuna theratened thm to stop broadcasting news bulletin.Same thing happened to Raj tv,but now Raj tv MD is DMK man.:wall:

vijay tv news was produced by ndtv, ndtv was producing news for star news aswell, ndtv broke off with star and started their own channel so tamil news produced by ndtv was also stopped. Raj tv md is a dmk man now, but he himself digged the grave for him by joining dmk. he thought dmk will use raj tv as their mouth piece and he can tak give torture to sun tv. but see now raj tv has gone down more in pupularity and joined the list of win tv, tamilan tv crap channels. wonder if anyone watch the channel first.

Oh is there a TV like Raj TV...It has been years I watched that TV...Watching Indian in Raj TV is the most difficult thing in the world....If kalaignar TV continues to buy movies at thiss rates then you would get a worst experience...:wall:You have a situation where u buy a donkey at the rate of a horse...So far not even one movie has telecasted has garnered more TRP's than their best program manada mayilada...Where is the ROI?

2006 elections was won by DMK bcos of SUNTV, the colortv addvertisement, Free lands scheme, and all other masala politics was well propogated by SUNTV and that is how DMK won the elections ( even though ADMK got 62 seats) DMK was able to get 93+ with its allies. even in 1996 SUN was the major player in making Jaya run out if Power,, and then after DMK came to power , SUN news was covering each and every cases filled against Jaya for corruption etc... Till the thinakaran poll tat made azagiri - maran split , SUN NEws never told any arrikai that Jaya gives. But then they started to be Neutral and wanted to show the Power of their Media. and started with all Jaya and vijaykanth arrikai's,, and also went still the extent of telecasting Jaya's theni meeting Live on SUnnews.(no one expected). and recently VIjaykanths chennai Manadu was Live too. and also the Film Freternity Rameswaram meeting for Srilankan tamils was also made Live. So its very Tough time For DMK to win the Parli elections without SUN support.. As harishravi86 said ,, if sun is showing Pitiful adds on recent powercuts, PRice rise, and other public issues with a Hype, definitely that will create a big damage to DMK and its congress. but nowadays people have changed , they dont vote based on a TV saying,, but SUN has the capability to make a havoc to some extent. SUN was the only chnl to thank all its people, viewers, cablewallas, film people, add agencies etc... on its every anniversary. and they give a Punch word " ithu ungalal Mudinthathu" it happened bcos of You. Nice strategy . Also SUN is the FIrst tamil chnl to go Internationally across US,UK, AUSY and Middle East.. ( like Star and zee channels). so tamil people across the globe purely depends on SUN TV only. Tat is a big revenue for SUN. No one in TN itself will worrry if kalaignar tv doesnot come for few days. but if SUN doesnot come even for few hours , then people will lash the cable wallas. good example is Madurai where Azagiris MSO RCV took over control and stopped sun signals and people started moving out to SUN Direct. always SUN tries to do things one step ahead of its rivals.If rival start a magazine, sun will start a news paper, like wise azagiri started MSO and SUN had its own DTH. No ways any one can beat their Strategy. Now they plan to take over some theaters in TN to show their Production Movies after the kadalil vizhunten experience. Nice Business people they are.Even Tata Sky's sales improved a lot only after addition of SUN CHnls. You may see tatasky spent crores of money to get the rights to show SUN chnls in their platform via cases. and it went for 1 year and finally sun released its signals to TS. after that in their adds TS specifically mentioned 9 tamil chnls includes SUN channels. THis shows the power of SUN.

well said, it iz clear from the way they market the movies. billa they advertising "tamil cinemavil miga periya thirupathai erpaduthyia movie" dono wat thirupam billa made the only thing i know abt the movie is nayanthara came half naked showing almost everythiing in her body:wall: even for some dappa movies they give a announcement as if it is a super hit movie.

Initially SUN had fight/ some issue with vivek and even Gautham vasudev. but later they realised to bcome neutral and solved issues and now vivek has a good play in SUN programmes and they show his comedies too. tat is why even SUN lost kakha kakha rights to Jaya. and Minnale rights to Raj,it would have been nice to watch these 2 films in SUN's clarity . but didnot happen. and now they solve issue with gautham too and got the rights for Vettayadu vilaiyadu-- mega hit. even they had some prblm with kalaipuli thanu, donno wat happned then,so they wont give much light to the films of those people with whom they had issues... but now some wat changed and became neutral.

now thanu is in good terms with sun tv, sun tv showed kanda samy inagural function live in sun tv last year, they bought the movie and sakarrakatti also.

tat is why even SUN lost kakha kakha rights to Jaya. and Minnale rights to Raj,

and everyday when people reach home in the evening , they Prefer watching sun news to know tat days happenings. than any other chnl. the early 8Pm news was rocking,, but now they shifted it to 7Pm to dash kalaignar news. now kalaignar startin 24hrs news chnl. think abt the content and the bias that news chnl would have.if sun tv manage to get these movies sure if they telecast they will get more trps than what they got when they showed in other channels.[/quote] right if kakha kakha and Minnale showed in SUN definetly people will watch it in a mass and it will get High Trps. any good movie showed on SUN will make people to njoy the real Movie stuff than it is showed in any other chnl. SUN started the theme of showing weekly movies titled on different schemas. like Intha varam Director varam , nagaichuvai varam, thriller varam,, kadhal varam etc.. those were real movie fun. also during summer vacattions they would air spl movies. that too when KTV was not available in chennai when it turned pay. they wantedly air promos of New films to be shown in KTV like Alaipayuthey, kandukonden, etc... and urged people to ask KTV with cable wallas. they know how to market them
