if anyone intrested in controlling home PC from office computer (both should have internet connection), I can give detailed step - by -step procedure with screenshots.Anyone intrested?

to control a computer with dynamic IP best way is to use this free service.no matter where you are---behind firewall, router, modem etc this will work.this will even work if your computer's real IP is not visible to outsiders like multiple computers connected to a single modem/router in pppoe mode.

instead of using these services like logmein, you can get a public name via dyndns.com like mine is "blahblah.homeip.net". you need to install a software which will update the current IP everytime your modem connects (IP changes)...then you can enable remote desktop on your PC and open the ports then you can directly access your PC by using the name you registered...you can then run email, web, ftp, ssh server in addition to remote login :)so if you type http // yourdyndnsid . yourdyndnsdomain . net / you can access your home website

difference is, you need to open ports for ur method. and for them, you dont have to open ports !!

i had been running my dyndns almost like three years... i controlled for running online radio, ftp, personal website and torrents from office....

but logme in, you neednt update ur ip or u neednot know your ip !! it works thru port 80 as it is not blocked in any places where u get internet !!

if it is Remote Administrator or any other software, you need to open some ports and use it.. and dyndns need to get updated (sometime router wont update dyndns immediately -> i had problem with Netgear/D-Link/Linksys routers) !!

also dydndns won't work inside, say,an university where hundreds of computers have same public IP & you don't have the authority to configure central servers/routers/open ports.
