Arasu cable may get pay channels but last mile cable operator will now cheat Arasu more in the number of connections they have It is difficult for them to cheat Hatway or SCV as they cannot be bribed easily. But for Arasu it isn't the case. My area cable operator cheats even SCV!! Don't know how much he is going to cheat Arasu In the end public money is wasted for their family fights :wall:

The 'arasu' i.e. the tamilnadu government will not be a loser. It has already announced that this is a service and not a business venture. It is another channel to make money for the party, politicians and local dadas.

Whether the broadcastes get money or no and the viewers are benefitted or not, there will be some intermediary happy beneficiaries.

Police warn against sabotage of Arasu Cable TV

Chennai (PTI): As the Tamil Nadu Government is all geared up to launch its Rs 100 per month cable television service through the Arasu Cable Corporation on July 15, the state police on Sunday warned of stringent action against anybody sabotaging the corporation's equipment or transmission lines. The Arasu Cable Corporation would provide 70 channels for Rs 100 a month, covering Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Tanjavur and Tiruvannamalai districts in the first phase.

Tamil Nadu cable service from July 15

Chennai (PTI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Monday said the monthly cable TV charges for those subscribing to the feed from the government-owned Arasu Cable TV corporation, which would be beaming transmission from tomorrow, would not exceed Rs 100.
The Corporation would provide feed to the people in Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Tiruchirapalli districts from tomorrow. The corporation has been formed to help people, who had been paying monthly charges ranging from Rs 150 to Rs 300 per month. As the government got a lot of complaints from the about being charged excessively, it decided to start the corporation, he wrote in DMK's mouthpiece 'Murasoli'.

Why this partiality? The police should look the other way as it did in the past. I have suffered a lot with this cable cutting, damage to equipment and sabotage in the past. Fortunately I am not in TN now.

Arasu Wants to dominate and they wanted to eliminate SCV from cable on or before Karunanidhi's term as CM during this period........

MK has clarified that for non-cas customers, rs. 100 will be the ceiling and will be less than what other cable operators charge (150 to 300). No indication of number of channels. For cas area, TRAI rules will apply. Everything clear now.

for non cas areas rs 100 for 60 FTA channels after 2 r 3 months channels will be increase upto 70 channels including pay channels also

for CAS areas(chennai) cost is some what above rs 100 for 60 FTA channels(not confirmed about pay channels)
