ADSL Modem suggestions ?

I found the search results quite old, dating back to 2007 and 2006.
Can the active experts suggest a good and cheap ADSL2+ ROUTER for my BSNL 500C ??
Am sure there should have been new ones out now !!

1k would be a good price.

Also please suggest ADSL2+ + WiFi Router like modems. So that I turn on the BSNL ADSL and browse using the laptop using wi-fi ! In this I can pay a big more!!

I suggest you get something on this list

DD-Wrt supported Hardware

as it will be greater value for money in the future when you are confident enough to unleash the true power of your router by flashing the firmware. (Caution: this might void your warranty)

Personally I would recommend NOT going for any 3com product for home use (including OfficeConnect).

Linksys is a safe option. If you are getting a non-ADSL router, then WRT54G2 is good and supported on the above list.

You will understand what I'm talking about when you start flashing firmwares for routers.

Linksys is costly. I saw at my friend's home, the beetle ADSL+WiFi Router that he got from Airtel, its awesome, where can i buy such a thing in Bangalore !!^^^ I know what flashing is, i have even developed applications to flash cellphones.Now can you tell me which ADSL2+WiFI Router would be the best buy ! Am confused.And hell yes, if we can mod the firmwares, then great, we shall develop cross platform apps for that also :irock:So suggest something cheap, available easily in INDIA, In Bangalore especially.Regards.

I'm not sure how reliable beetel is when it comes to wi-fi. Currently the airtel-provided beetel adsl2+ modem has been working fine for me.You haven't specified a budget you are looking at, have you? Linksys are generally good, also look out for Netgear, Belkin, those are ones I've used reliably. Netgear might be less expensive than linksys.

my budget would be less then 2.5k ! actually the airtel beetel costs just some 1.5k from Airtel them self.2.5k itself is a bit too much. So something for 1.5k ?
