Airtel relationship center at Annanagar says its on Jan 27th. But think twice before opt for 3G. You may aware of the tariff details for Karnataka.
Agree that these are not dream prices.. But at the same time not something thats not affordable for mobile data users. I use for for email on my Blackberry and for some IM. Obviously this is not a replacement for the wired broadband connections.
Its 27th, we will know if the launch is going to happen today in some hours.. Lets wait and watch

Well using 3g for IM and emails ? whats the use of 3g then? you can do that on 2g connections too.. 3g means not just data transfer either.. i dont know how many years it will take for india to switch to just video calling instead of normal calling.. its just because of BSNL 4200 half yearly plans that people started expecting alot from other providers. apart from BSNL, no other provider has Unlimited Data transfer on 3g. What other players have is something similer to tata phonon and net connect of reliance plan(max 21gb plans)... Airtel did something new (which is actually more costlier) by introducing - Rs.675 plan where you get 1.25gb. and limit of Rs.2000 at 1p for 100kb. so now if some uses up the entire Rs 2000 then he wil get another 19 odd gb. So the User has to pay(assuming) Rs 675 + rs 2000 for 1.25gb + 19 odd gb which comes upto 20gb max.
Well rumours about vodafone to launch 3g unlimited for Rs 899.Well looking at the current market I think it would be another disappointment when they will have Fair Usage Policy or something to spoil the excitment.

1/100KB = 10p/MB = 100rs/GB.
So, 2000 - 675 = 1325rs/100rs/gb =13.25 Gb approx+ 1.25GB = 14.5 GB & thats all. After that u can reach the server faster than ur data reaches it on 20kbps speed :cool2:
whatever way you calculate Airtel plans are still expensive. my friends whosoever is using airtel, pls stick to browsing only on Handset and not on laptops or desktops. otherwise bills will shock you:readtherules:
