Airtel 3G Tariffs and Packages

Here are the tariffs:
Video Calling: 5p/sec
Mobile TV: Rs.40/week with 80min of watching time!!!

Rs.9 ..1 day 10MB
Rs.50 ..3 days 55MB
Rs.200 ..30days 250MB
Rs.450 ..30 days 500MB
Rs.650 ..30days 1.2GB

Overall....these plans SUCK

WTF......This is what the market leaders, has in offering, for their subscribers. A bunch of crappy data plans with bullshit Mobile TV tariff. Just 80 mins a week (will not even cover a single IPL match @ 80 bugs). Think Reliance 3G has got much better tariff. Thinking of porting my number to Reliance 3G after being a loyal customer of Airtel for the past six years. In the near future they will surely not be the market leaders, if they continue to apply their crappy FUP thing everywhere.
 
Fair Usage Policy applied to 3G too -
Airtel 3G Plan: Rs. 650 monthly rental for 1.25GB, pay per use till bill cap reaches Rs. 2000, then speeds slashed to 128kbps

Too bad, was thinking of shifting to Airtel from Vodafone for 3G, as Voda doesn't have 3G license in AP. Now I would have to stick back with Vodafone ..
 
^^Vodafone will launch 3G in AP in partnership with Airtel/idea. Anyways you can expect the very same plans from them too!

Airtel customer care sucks!
I called them up and they informed me of following plans. they denied the existence of Rs.650 1.25 GB plan that has been trending all over internet.

here are the plans they told me of:
Rs.9/- 10MB 1 day
Rs.60/- 65MB 3 days
Rs.103/- 100MB 30 days
Rs.200/- 250MB 30 days
Rs.450/- 600MB 30 days
Rs.750/- 2GB 30 days

To migrate your 2G connection to 3G, type '3GHS' (without quotes)and send it to 121.
Existing 2G tarrif will be applicable for voice.

seems like they are giving each guy a different info. #airtelsucks

worst part is, for getting all this inconsistent info they charged me 50 paise.
 
HA HA HA HA.. What a loser I feel like now!!! Airtel is being run by clowns now that so much of their think tank is diverted to Africa.. What kind of plan is this??

Hate to be a stuck record but I just sent the 3G activation message from my BB 9000 and I get "handset not compatible" message in reply.

The phone works perfectly on the BSNL 3G Network. BSNL took 2 weeks to get all the settings sorted out after their launch. Hope Airtel hasnt come to the same level and BSNL and will take 2 weeks to figure out their settings.

Moving closer to BSNL office to port now...

I have activated Airtel 3G on my mobile. Just send an sms as "3G" to 121. Your existing 2G data plan will be unsubscribed and you will be logged on to 3G n/w. Will update shortly with speed test results.I stay in JP Nagar, Bangalore (KA)
