i decided to switch without MNP. changed my number. moved from aircel to airtel. wanted to get edge on roaming. if only airtel provides one decent plan on 3G. i am not optimistic about it though. let's hope their 98 rupee 2GB plan continues to remain available and they do not mess up with its performance.

Hoping to see good 3G plans....should be economical... as of now as per few analysts reliance has the most economial plans.....lets see what Voad and Airtel have for us..

It seems to be pretty clear that airtel would be unable to launch 3G within this year. Considering only three days are left in 2010. Can your team give us an update on when we can expect it to be launched?

Hi,

As all the customers are aware that we are in the process to launch 3G, surely everyone would be hearing very soon, would suggest all the customers to visit Discover a world of possibilities with 3G on your mobile for more information, we'll keep you updated with the launch dates

@Airtel Presence,Under Handset Offers section, "2 GB data download per month for 6 months @ just Rs.300" is mentioned for Samsung Galaxy S. If i activate by sending "SAMSUNG to 543210", will this offer be applicable on 3G network?I understand that its mentioned under 3G section but still i would like to have a word from you.

the fact remains. not a lot of people would migrate to BSNL just because how they operate. their connections are not easily available. recharges are not easily available. customer support is usually clueless about their own offerings.

i believe, the only way to get their SIM is to go to the nearest exchange. ask around. find the relevant guy. feel lucky if you get the appropriate form. fill it up. and submit it. hopefully everything turns out correctly. and you are given the sim.

of course, experiences may vary.

if BSNL can operate like private operators opening retail stores in major locations in a city, making it easy to get their SIM cards and renewals. a lot of people WOULD migrate.

its not that difficult like before AFAIK , i got my bsnl 3G sim activated in around 30 mins from the exchange itself , fill the form , pay money . insert the sim in the mobile and it was activated right at the spot . i too was surprised by this ! but its happening for real though

u can get bsnl sim from bsnl csc , bsnl exchange and from franchise ! same for the recharge too
but for customer care , i dont have a clue :D

Till now there is no definite answer from Airtel like we will launch end of this year or Q1 of 2011 etc... "we are yet launch 3G" is something like we will launch but we don't know when.-Kannan M

well in the end, their technical team would decide. airtel_presence cannot do much about it :)
