coz the ads just talk about 2/4 mbps speeds. does not talk about fups. you still have the choice to take 100GB connection at 16mbps for 5500 bucks. that is airtel for you and me today. pay a premium for speed. pay 55 bucks (450 bucks after FUP) per GB of data transfer. and they would still ask you to be nice to them.

FLASH UPDATE: Vodafone is going to launch 3G services in Karnataka(Bangalore) on 20th Jan. Source: Vodafone Customer Care!!

So you can expect Airtel to launch 3G in next couple of days as vodafone runs its 3g network in karnataka on Airtel!!

and it seems unlikely that they would be able to use a rival's network even before the rival has launched its own service?

I just happened to see this article: ----There is a new ad on TV these days where Irrfan is there. "Aapko to aadat is pad gayi hai". I was just thinking it may be airtel 3G ad to say that others are used to slow internet and but airtel will offer high speed internet?Just a thought :)

@gopi, i have told zillion times before that Vodafone will be using Airtel network to offer 3G in Karnataka and other circles where they don have spectrum. Same thing applies with Airtel! You won't see any Vodafone network in 3G because they are not going to have their own 3G here and rather will simply use Airtel's 3G network!@admin, thats the reason i told...Airtel may launch 3G in next couple of days or by max 20th Jan!I was informed by Vodafone's Nodal officer in November itself that they will use Airtel network and will launch 3G immediately after Airtel starts their 3g...

If that is the case then it would be very interesting to see their 3G data packages as even number portability will start from 15th January..

Then whats the fun in using vodafone 3G service when they are providing via Airtel? Retaining mobile number? Naah... MNP is for this.
Also can vodafone build their systems such that mobiles switch to Vodafone 2G signals when Airtel 3G signals are not available? Its complicated.

of course, they would have to take that into consideration. if 3g is being rented, 2g would have to be supported as well...
