Airtel 3G Tariffs and Packages

guys, my first impression from two days usage of airtel 3G. as our friend rightly said. signals are fantastic on roads or outdoors, but it is poor in densly located localities. but and but...... connectivity is the issue with some base station around the city. base station located at my IT park had collapsed almost 20 times today. some time signals completley disappeared and there was no connectivity for almost 1 hr, then i had to switch to GSM signals. infact while travelling signals used to disapear and i had to switch to GSM mode again. also some time if you try to make a call, signals used to disapear. i am using brand new Nokia N8. tried on my other handheld HTC HD7, but same problem prevailed.

one good thing about airtel that speed is not dropped even when low signals are there.
well, airtel still long way to go on improvement.
 
Just called up Airtel Customer Care.

I had previously sent 3G to 121 thrice, but of no avail.

When I called CC (call was charged), she had no clue about the 2GB plan for Galaxy S/N8. When I mentioned that it was present in the site (3G Handset upgrade Offers, airtel Handset Offer) she told me to give a try.

When I sent the message as per instructed in the site, i got reply message that the offer has been closed.

It seems that my airtel 3G dream has come down crashing...
 
gopi and dhanajay, airtel has fooled us by sending the mailer earlier and not keepingt theri promise. to my surprise i had called up cc today and they informed that i am active on 750 3g plan since yesterday after sending 3g msg to 121. i was really annoyed over this info. to veryfy the info again i had called cc again and they again confirmed that i am active with 3G 750 plan. on firing them left and right , they told sir that you subscribed to 750 plan by calling cc. what nonsense?????

somehow i asked them to change it to 103 plan to keep on safer side.

so all airtel postpaid customer whosoever activated 3G services in karnataka, pls call CC and confimr which plan you have been put into rather than getting shocks when bills arrives.

yaar guys all operators are definatly taking us for ride. i am using 3 operators sim in karnataka, all postpaid. all gives bitter experiance one or the other point of time.

should have only 2 operators in india, should be obedient .
what is your say on this guys!

also guys i will tell u something out of the topic. today i had gone to aircel store in bangalore to experiance 3G speed. as always saw Nokia N8 to experiance 3G in place of laptop. what a joke.:pleasehelp::clap: asked one of the executive about the idea of keeping the Nokia N8 in place of laptop to experience 3g, in reply he said No idea Sirji, company decesion. i said then get idea.:wink:

they had played youtube video on LCD screens connected to N8 thru HDMi cable.
to be frank speed was so disgusting that i immediatly thought of going out of the store. 100 KB page took 20 seconds to load. again i asked ,why speed is slow, in reply he said no idea as services are not formally launched, its just for demo.

well, tower was also just above the store building.

poor aircel, they would need to first replace r with t in there name and then could think of some better services, i meen some only.
 
I am downloading 3 torrent files and getting a speed of over 3.5Mbps with 3 signal bars.

I will talk to airtel people and will tell them that i got in writing about handset offer. Also yesterday during launch, a big brochure was displayed containing handset offers.
 
I visited an Airtel centre this evening, found that they are very busy with MNP forms (surprisingly). No one had time to talk.When I inquired about Handset offers, they said to call Customer Care as they had no idea.
 
friends , how smoothly these telco top management people gets escaped away when we are not able to go beyond these so called customer care service. casual attitude parasite has hit hard to telcos, we all together should do something. better thing will choose one day and boycot each operator one by one by not making any calls in on that day all inidia. they will be rogered royally . very well said, if someone eat more and more beyond his appitite ,he vomits. same has happened to these telcos. i have not used even a single data byte today from airtel 3G becuase of their network issue. i was tired of selecting their network manually and if selected, was not able to make calls even
