also guys i will tell u something out of the topic. today i had gone to aircel store in bangalore to experiance 3G speed. as always saw Nokia N8 to experiance 3G in place of laptop. what a joke.:pleasehelp::clap: asked one of the executive about the idea of keeping the Nokia N8 in place of laptop to experience 3g, in reply he said No idea Sirji, company decesion. i said then get idea. they had played youtube video on LCD screens connected to N8 thru HDMi cable.to be frank speed was so disgusting that i immediatly thought of going out of the store. 100 KB page took 20 seconds to load. again i asked ,why speed is slow, in reply he said no idea as services are not formally launched, its just for demo. well, tower was also just above the store building. poor aircel, they would need to first replace r with t in there name and then could think of some better services, i meen some only.
Poor speed.....Then i'm sure there will be a true unlimited plan in Aircel 3G....LOL

All is over...Everyone was looking up to airtel for pricing standards but now people have clearly lost interest in this crap 3G.BSNL may be good for a while but then excessive customers will eventually degrade their service to unusable levels.Perhaps the only ray of hope is the 4G services(BWA) but it is again at least a year away.

^^BWA is more than an year away.We should thank our great Govt for this kida pricing. I strongly feel the auction format was outright cruel on operators part. Govt has got 40% more money than what it should have got.

Govt has got 40% more money than what it should have got.

They have got approx. 1.06 lakh crores from 3G & BWA auction and still DOT is sitting on the TRAI recommended NBP 2010 which asks for a pan india open access FIBER layout till every village which has 500 or more inhibitants, which is going to nearly cost 60,000 crore but will be future proof. Govt. is now in the mode of milking telecom sector as a revenue generating holycow, & we users are the one paying for the costly milk:confuse:

^^Yes! If govt milks operators...they will milk us!Now i want to know what great things they will achieve with that money..

here is one of the most ironic things i have heard in recent times:

2G scam: No public loss to exchequer, says Kapil Sibal - CNBC-TV18 -

Q: So you are saying that the methodology is wrong therefore the conclusion is wrong?
A: There are two things. One, in policies of this nature what we need to do is maximise public welfare and not maximise revenue, that’s the underlying philosophy of the 10th Plan.
Q: So the government wasn’t seeking to maximise revenue. It wanted to spread tele density?
A: That is exactly what we wanted to do; spread tele density, ensure that there is money in the pocket of the consumer, that the cost of telephony is much less for the consumer, there is greater competition in the market, the cost of having a mobile phone is less. All these objectives are for public welfare. Ultimately remember this, technology is not for revenue earning, technology must reach people and reach people at a cost that helps in their welfare.

To me Kapil Sibal looks like an scientist in Chemistry Labs looking for mixing different chemicals & waiting for a boom :happy:Whatever portfolio is given to him, he injects his own remedy to it. Now he is coming with a New Telecom Policy 2011 to replace the already existing NTP 1999 :readtherules:We'll have to wait & see what new thing is cooking now :O

It took so many years for broadband to be affordable through the years.I had expected that with the advent of 3G, the broadband prices might just fall a bit.Seems everything has gone haywire and the best thing to do is to avoid 3G services and continue using BB and 2G and let the telcos lose money. Airtel may have shelled lotsa money for 3G but its sucking blood in BB with FUP

at current prices, i am sticking with their 98 rupee 2g plan. if vodafone launches anything usable, i would MNP away from airtel to vodafone.
