Airtel 9600 series Prepaid

Hi I bought new airtel connection recently in Tamil nadu and i saw the series of numbers starting with 9600###### and i took one of these.Most sites do not recognise this as airtel number.Even in Airtel website when i try to register for "Do not call" registry it says this is not a valid airtel number.somebody having this kinda problems?

Even i am facing the same problem with my recent BSNL prepaid connection. It is of the order of 9496xxxxxx. I cannot subscribe to any online services (like i used to) because according to them, its not a valid indian mobile number. "For customers who would like to register/de-register their request for NDNC registry may dial 1909 or SMS to 1909 with keywords 'START DND' for registration and 'STOP DND' for de-registration" - taken from National Do Not Call Registry Try it, it worked for me.

Thanks for the reply,i know how to register for NDNC but i want to know is this 9600##### series common,anyone in india having this number.

maybe they have recently introduced this series..wait for sometime, it will become common.
