My dad got a call on the airtel landline. Apparently Airtel is now seeking verification documents for landlines too... :| I am confused. I use my landline bill as an address proof! Anyone here has any idea? I have sent a mail to airtel presence folks. waiting for their reply.

^ Haha. Do they accept their own phone bill as an address proof, considering others do? :D

waiting for a response from the airtel team. the call does not make any sense. dad of course did not get all the details.

I would say Aircel is clear win
My connection, on my padosi address.
Even when I got the verification call,
I gave them the wrong address lol I was confused 211zzzzz 217?, but,
the girl[exec] didn't say anything, and no verification thing again O_o

Your landline is getting very eventful. First the unlimited offer. Now this.
Seriously, I would not be surprised if this is some new Know Your Customer regulation that has been introduced. And as usual, it comes to admin first.

for me it has become an annoyance. i do not really have many address proofs. standard chartered does not send me paper statements. heh. my ID Card had wrong information so i cannot use it. my license is pretty darn old so the address is of a really old residence. PAN card does not have address. airtel bill is the only document i have for address proof. heh.

Well, your ID card is the biggest proof. You can use your passport for verification...PAN card is most of the time not considered anything unless it's some bank or any org. related to funds and stuffYou should get your ID card corrected.

i tried filling the forms and everything. nothing happened. i never wanted the ID card in the first place. dad forced me to and then they delivered me a messed up one. gender? female. spelling of the name? incorrect. sucked.

I know I know, my Maaa also forced me to get this thing :DBut, it's really important prah!! I came to know of it's importance when I was travelling in train and T.C asked me for verification thing O_OI just had PAN Card... Rs20 mein peecha chuta.Anyways, it's election time so you will have your ID corrected soon[hopefully], as the offices are not dormant, like they are most of the time.
