Airtel Bangalore - tremendous speed boost since 6 hrs (250 k BYTES/sec)

Experiencing wierd speed bump today, here in CHENNAI. It's not a ~2Mbps spike like it had happenned before, but a 512kbps one :


I know it's not really a gr8 speed but I think 512kbps means a tiny bit of possibility that a speed upgrade is going on. Great if it's holds true. And if not, well, I'll enjoy till it lasts I guess ;)

you could have rested your modem..i had 512kbps at beginning and then i realized i am getting a speed boost i rested and got 2mbps.

Actually, I didn't reset my modem but still got a ~2mbps speed bump:


Looks like whatever we do at our end, like restart modem, etc, the chance that we get a speed bump is at the whims of airtel networks...

BTW, right now, my speeds are back to normal :|

yup it's at the back end i agree.but at initial stage it require a reset at for me because i keep my modem always on no mater my comp is on or not
 
All you guys are lucky. Even though I'm using Airtel for more than a year, I never got a speed boost. :( Does Airtel pick customers from and give this speed boost?? I guess someone from Airtel backoffice can explain it here
 
my speed boost 3 times in december month.. 256 Kbps to 4 Mbps....:happy: Always get 353 Kbps on 256 Kbps connection.
 
a frnd of mine just got his 128 kbps ul connectionhe is getting 70KBps download speedspeed is constanthe is getting this speed from past 3 days
 
speed boost back!



p.s : i am having 256k ul connection and i get only these speeds during speed boost coz my line is limited to 576/576.

jealous here :(,i got 3 times in 6 month :cry:.also u fooled us in a long time ago about secret of getting boost lol:(
