Ok so here is the story. I had a MTNL T-KD-318-EUI router with me so when i took Airtel BB[read Airtel BB] about 4 years ago i dint opted for a modem from them. Now The best thing about this modem was that somehow i was not affected by their FUP [may they wasn't able to track through this modem], But from the time i am using my friends D-Link modem i am capped every month, FUP limit hardly last 1 week now. But one day while trying to port forward i accidentally hit the factory restore button, and BOOM!! the internet was gone. I tried to configure it by myself but was not able to connect to internet searched a lot of forums but all in vain so i called up CC they weren't able to make it work, so they sent their "Engineer" to my place, he wasted a lot of time but finally gave up saying that This modem is not supporting from Back-end. I asked that if it was supporting till now how could it not anymore, he dint knew what to say.The best he was able to do was to make internet accessible by Bridge connection on this modem but i also have to connect my Net-gear WiFi router to this modem which it does not support on bridge connection because apparently you can only connect 1 system using bridge mode.Does any body here knows how to make it work/Bypass it again?I sincerely does not know what to do because i want to switch my BB as soon as there is a reliable BB/ISP here in Delhi, so taking modem from them will be like wasting my money. If i buy modem from Market am not sure it will support Airtel BB for how long if no good ISP shows up just like it stopped supporting with this MTNL TKD modem.

75 views and no replies. :S Ok what options do i have now?Should i buy modem from them or buy my own?How much is it gonna cost me from market and from Airtel?Lol i already have 2 non functioning modems now:- One beetel 220Bx[Friend's gave when he shifted] and MTNL's TKD-318 [When Disconnected MTNL's BB]

Well first of all thanx Xyx2000 for replying.I have already tried that, in-fact even the Airtel technician has wasted a lot of time on this modem to connect it through PPPoE mode but its not working. So today i've set the TKD Modem on Bridge mode and it seems to be working. But the Problem is 1. I cannot use my Netgear WG614 Wi-Fi router to access the Net on laptop and mobile phones wirelessly.2. Bridge mode is not supporting in Windows 7 which is on my PC.So now i have to access net via bridge mode on my laptop which has Win-XP through lan cable and using a dialer each time i want to access internet. Can't my Netgear router dial the connection automatically?? I think i saw something like this on net, i tried to dial it through Netgear Router using my Login name and password, but still it doesn't connect to internet.

If you have configured the mtnl modem in bridge and its working then just connect the lan port of the mtnl modem to the wan port of the Netgear modem and configure PPPOe in the netgear modem , it will dial automatically.

As per my understanding i have to dial each time while connecting to internet using my login id and password in bridge mode.So in order for my router to distribute internet through Wi-Fi, it also have to dial in same way. So that's why its not working directly by plugging it into the router. However there was an option in Netgear WG614 setting which asked me whether my Connection requires login id and password.I enabled it and entered the same info as in my modem, but still i was not able to access internet.I think i read somewhere that we can only run one System at a time using Bridge mode. Is it true?PS- How to access internet using Bridge mode in Windows-7?? I did everything same as XP but it still doesn't work.

Forget about dialing, just do this -Read your Netgear modems manual on how to set up pppoe, you will have to enter airtel id and pass during the pppoe setup in you netgear router , then just connect the bridge mode mtnl modem's lan port to the netgear modems wan port.

Well actually i did tried that already before my last post. Sorry for not making it clear enough in that post.I entered the same details on the page after it says "Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?"-Yes-NoSelected yes and entered details. But still was not able to access internet thru Wi-Fi.

Hey thanx man.:) Bridge connection is now working in Windows-7, that article was helpful, and that bloody Airtel Technician said Win-7 doesn't support Bridge Connection. :XHowever i am still not able to use my Wi-Fi router for internet. I really have tried almost all things but its not working. And i don't know Why this modem has just stopped supporting airtel BB suddenly in normal mode.I just hit the Factory restore button accidentally and from then it really have been pain using laptop with lan cable and no wifi for mobile phones in home either. If some one loaded cfg file for airtel BB[in normal mode] on this modem, Will it help??
