Petitioning Rajya sabha is useless..whoever thought of that?

2 Options to send it to govt.

1a) Fax the petition to PS of telecom minister
1b) Fax it to the secretary Deptt of Telecom.

2) Print it out and send by registered post to the above mentioned deptts

Well the best way to do it is to file a complaint with TRAI [Telecom Regulatory Authority of India] ... i am planning to do the same so whoever is interested could post here and we can arrange something !!

Today i have recd a letter from AIRTEL - in reply to the complaint made by me to DoT- and in this letter they state that the FUP is implemented on Speeds greater than 256kbps. So i remain unaffected by FUP.Ty Airtel and board members.

heh. FUP is not implemented on 256kbps plans coz if they reduce the speed on this plan, it no longer is BROADBAND. and that goes against TRAI's policy.they are not showing any mercy for you or other 256k plan customers. they are just stuck with the TRAI's definition of broadband. and trai has to consider revising that definition.

^^ i would love to see that definition go to 2 mbps that would be a huge jump for india but still a baby step compared to the rest of the world

rest of the world?that would be pretty incorrect. broadband situation is not great in the rest of the world. it's just great in a few limited countries most of which are small and pretty developed.

In my opinion, Fair Usage Policy is fair enough. I'm on 1Mbps unlimited plan with 100 GB limit. After crossing this limit my speed would be reduced to 512Kbps. It's fine unless you're a hardcore pirate. I usually download 50-60 GB per month. The plan is just fine for me. But the downside is that, evne after restricting teh customers they are not providing 8 or 16Mbps plans at competitive prices. I'm more concerned about that.

how can you say that only hardcore pirates can download 100gb?
dont you know things like ea store,steam,videos on demand-where you can download movies,games legally after paying.
