airtel only has their crappy netxpert thingy that is made to run on customer's machine and it only works on windows (of course).

Even I went through something like this and decided to keep quiet. The alternatives do not exist (dont tell me BSNL is better) and it is better to wait till a proper alternative emerges and dump Airtel for good.

BSNL is seriuosly better IMO ... i have 750 plan (512kbps UL) and no throttling , no interference.. u use , u pay the bill , they keep quiet.. thats it.. and in my place , and also in many place BSNL officers are neighbours or friends of friend... CC (in person) is really good... one phone call to my local bsnl node , will give me the exact detail of the problem (no i am serious , they would say this line in this area is cut... etc) even though the FUP do exist there i would any time take BSNL compared to airtel , as i really cant put up with their STUPID CC ...

the thing i say again. your experience in your area with your local bsnl folks has been good. that does not mean shit for someone else. it's bsnl. user experience would differ from one colony/sector to another. one house to another. one customer to another.

ya they asked me too to install that software when i was a iartel customer... but i simply ignored... but if what TS is saying .. it seems we have to install some VPA software thing to get access to net ... TS has to clear our doubt about that VSA ..

netxpert has some activex component which automatically configures the modem settings i believe. but it can be done manually with no hassles at all.

BSNL. I can write a book on them. My friend works as Telecom officer in my HomeTown and he suggests to not go for BSNL.

U never know when it breaks down, no reasons explained and u never get the speeds promised.

The airtel agent had come to my home a couple of times, promptly looked into the issue and when he logged in to airtel internal site to update the status, one look at the options made me faint.

They dont have Windows 7 as OS option, all other fields to fill are of no use.

Thats the way they work.

The agent did say that the field work has been outsourced to Lucent recently (Bangalore) and they have been pathetic as they reduced the no.of employees and hence the bad CC.

The VPA software runs at the Airtel's server end and not on your desktop. You don't need any special software to run Airtel broadband.

To Sushubh too..

As i said m its my expirience and my past expirience with airtel... and looking on who brought FUP into indian scenario and how well the FUP is ahndled and structured... i would not go for airtel , thats the way , and only way in a democractic country i can show my apathy against a company , by neglecting it , ignoring it... and putting them on a back foot to change thier course...

yes m thier network can sometime go down... and no one will give a answer , but so far there is almost 95% uptime for 4 months now...

i was talking about the quality of service. i agree that airtel telephone customer has gone to shits. and i told airtel presence team EXACTLY THAT. but i can assure you that the experience offered by airtel is pretty similar throughout the country. and that is where BSNL loses out. i can give you a simple example. airtel presence team might be hated around here on the forum. but my own experience dealing with them has been rather positive in nature. one mail to them would get the thing going. this is something that BSNL cannot deliver.

agree thats the difference between prvt and govt setup ... , and i dont see why the highest PROFITING company in the telecom sector is not having a good CC and not ready to remove thier FUP .. sushubh , as i told before , i loved airtel once , but now i dont see the spirit which they had 4 years back , anything new ? anything inovative , airtel was there .. and airtel had better plans , good CC ...

ya as u say airtel might have a upper edge , but i still se bsnl , atleast in TN better than or in with par airtel( current )....

in the end , we fight , reply to want CC to be knowledged in thier field , better plans ... and better service ..
