^^ Wow, that's unbelievable! :ishock:
Most surprising fact is they are keen in FUP. They are not even ready to give me a plan without FUP except 256 kbps. I told them i'm ready to pay more, atleast give me a 512 kbps without FUP. They said how can we give a plan to you that don't really exist. They also told me that i wont get that kind of plan without FUP even with other ISP.

buy a domain like that and you are going to get sued by airtel.

of course, it might be considered fair usage in the usa. here in india, your parents would smack your ass as soon as you get a court notice at your place.

btw. airtelsucks.com is already owned by someone. Airtelsucks.com - Airtel Sucks

the user detail is private.

Didnt whois'ed this domain to chk whther taken or not .... btw I wasnt goin' 2 do it. I already own 1 forum site n many blogs.... I jus' said it in jocular way bec Airtel is worth it... aap to serious hi ho gaye :)

@iChaitanya - no problem with the thread hijacking ;-) We are actually facing the exact same problem. Glad to hear that you are being offered a plan without FUP. Do make sure you take it from them in writing that there is no FUP.As for me, as soon as I get my MTNL modem fixed (this week), I will be calling up Airtel for disconnection. Even my local cablewalla is offering some 1 Mbps and 2 Mbps plans. I would much rather go with them than give money to Airtel - a bunch of morons and cheats! And ofcourse the wait for Hayai continues.

Airtel is screwed up big time... after getting 4mbps for 48 hrs i am back with 1mbps again... funny i had been FUP'd to 512kbps before this happened. could this mean airtel is changing their FUP policy?@ichaitanyaI doubt whether you will get that plan. but u were given an assurance. love to see how this one goes.

I think its better to use reliance gsm, and connect with usb cable, they have consistent speeds of upto 200 Kbs/sec, i have tested it myself on my android based handset, with a speed test ap installed. they have 99 / month 2.5 gbplan

We are talking about unlimited plans FUP here? Didn't u see it?

Didn't you ask for the old Freedom 1699 or any 1 Mbps day/night plan but without a fair usage policy?
I can't afford anything more than 1099 (+ taxes) per month. If I would have asked for the good old "Freedom 1699", they would have gladly provided it but with a FUP limit of 100GB.

Ya, let's see. I still feel cheated though. Paying 1099 INR per month (+ taxes) for 512 Kbps day / 1 Mbps night to airtel while Reliance and BSNL 3G subscribers enjoy much higher speeds in same price. :(

I dont know whether they will call me again about the retention plans. SAT-MON were festival holidays in TN. Hope things go well in the next couple of days.....or else that's the end of it

from my experience, only answer for airtel Fair Usage Policy is their retenetion dept, A department which can cater to every segment of customers be it low rental plan, no Fair Usage Policy plan or high speed @low rental plan.this dept has solution for all, depending on our bargaining capacity.here are some tips from my personal experience :if u dont get good plan from retention dept at one go, disconnect the call and try some other day, different executives behave differently. may be some kind executive provide you better plan.even if you dont get suitable plan, let you take whatever they give and then call in next month (i.e. next billing period), high probability of getting some better plan or discount on existing retention plan.remember one thing, they will try to retain you till last moment (last month my 20% discount on retention 449 just completed 6 month and stopped, I called them for disconnection and tell the reason. the retention guy denied me to extend the 20% discount and told that you will get call from airtel for disconnection. but I got call from their office and that executive give me 20% discount for another three month).I am getting unlimited 512 kbps for 359.2 Rs.+ plus taxes since apr 2010.I got my connection in feb 10, and before my first bill arrived I get 20% discount from retention dept and in second billing period I got this plan
