indeed we should all chill but as i have said it before online petitions dont do squat. It is not even legally binding to the parties.ITs just a form of protest. You need to take the legal route ie court but we all have to wait for the speed reduction.

"a small number of users" are those who use more than a mere 10-13% of data usage.

According to Airtel "A generous usage level is" = 10-13% data usage. this should be the second biggest scam of the year after Satyam. :)

even 128kbps is not spared. even that is reduced to half once it reaches 10GB.

if 128/256/384kbps can impair Airtel's network performance then shut down the damn ISP..

Airtel has not got the license to be a traffic cop??

In a way they are suggesting how most users are not using the Unlimited connections properly. Isnt it a good thing that only very few users are using the service fully? What a bunch of crooks, another Satyam in the making.

i am open to the idea of getting a dedicated domain for the online protest. we can have an open forum inviting people to post their opinion on this new policy by airtel... but then we already have too many online sections on this topic. blah. the thing is... if we get make this information more accessible to people who are researching airtel online, it would make a difference. i am not talking about a site like airtelsucks.com but more like airtel-AFUP.com :P

Well, I can only do anything when my own speeds are affected. Till now, my speeds have been alright. I am otherwise in full support of this protest... Doing the best I can right now.

true. even i sent complaints to trai. but cant go to CORE unless it affects me you see. the would drop my case like a hot potato.

i was asking about reliance and tata wimax here on the forum. what do you think the people seeking comments about airtel as an ISP are coming to understand? we are trying to hurt airtel just for the reason they decided to hurt us : more users. as i said earier, i am trying to turn people away from airtel..and that won't stop unless airtel learns it' lesson.

we have to make these protests mor visible on the internet. digg this thread, and all other related content you can find on the internet.

if media is not taking action, we could go ahead and post a half page advert in a national daily giving out details and analysis of airtel FUP in consumer interest. they can't gag that.

how much will this cost? and can they take any legal action in any way? how about contacting some RECOGNISED consumer support NGO?

Hi,I think posting an add like "issued in public interest/public awareness" in a national daily would a great step and cause a huge embarassment to Airtel. Need someone here who would be willing to walk that extra mile. Such an add would need to present informaiton based solely on facts and not on our enraged emotions, otherwise no newspaper would accept it.I think admin's idea for a full fledged domain protesting against the airtel AFUP would be great as well. If we users can give it a huge number of hits, it would start showing up on the front page search results of google and can be another huge pain in the ass of Airtel. Again the site would have to display the absolute right informaiton to the users and how they are affected by such a unfair AFUP. If everything is put in the right way Airtel wont be able to do anything against the site and all would have access to it when they search for Airtel broadband connection. This way we can hurt Airtel where it hurts the most.
