umm i think we already know that part. they are not charging us extra. but they are not allowing us to use the net to its full potential.
Umm... From what I understood, they are charging us extra. I mean, once the Airtel's "Fair" usage data-cap is reached, you are paying for 50% more higher speed that what they are providing you till the end of the billing cycle, right?
Or, are they refunding this extra cost back to us?

Very nicely put !

Airtel has lost its mind?

Plans are really f-ed up, for instance look for delhi region

Value combo 899

Monthly Commitment (Rs.) 899
Free Minutes Rs.100
Broadband Data Transfer Limit Unlimited
Download Speed * 256 Kbps till 15GB, 128 Kbps beyond 15 GB

Value combo 749

Monthly Commitment (Rs.) 749
Free Minutes Rs.150
Broadband Data Transfer Limit Unlimited
Download Speed * 256 Kbps till 15GB, 128 Kbps beyond 15 GB

HOME 649

Monthly Commitment (Rs.) 649
Free Minutes Rs.100 (Local)
Broadband Data Transfer Limit Unlimited
Download Speed * 256 kbps

All thse plans are 256 unlimited, home 649 is the cheapest witout any fair usuage limit mentioned. 749 has more free calls(150) than 899 with same limits and speed.

Am I missing something here ?

This forum seems to have attracted the attention of Airtel!
Have a look at the latest tariff plans for different States.
All Unlimited plans have been deleted.
I think, existing U/L users may continue to enjoy
normal speed as usual .
@genexed: Combo899 missing!

For Delhi:>
8 Mbps Combo 2222 >
8 Mbps Combo 4444 >
8 Mbps Combo 9999
8 Mbps Combo 19999 >
Business 1499 >
Business 3333
Business 9999 >
Business 15999 >
2 mbps Combo 1299
2 mbps Combo 2222 >
2 mbps Combo 4444 >
2 mbps Combo 8888
8 Mbps Combo 2222
Para two:
Airtel metering is from 26th to 25th in Chennai.
No idea how they check the "cap" limit
if usage is not recorded
for existing U/L plan users.

they must be kidding to offer no unlimited plans from now on! it's a must have feature for any ISP today :p

OMG of Airtel actually cancels UL packages and BSNL and other ISPs follow suit it will be a disaster, like going back to the dark ages of dialup... i wont be able to download ANYTHING worthwhile with a 2GB or 5GB cap, not even my beloved Linux ISOs and updates :( will have to ration the goddang Internet!

ill relocate to the area where railtel provides service ;)

You are in blore itself. i think they are providing in 3 areas. go and get it :D
