Has anyone got any reply from TRAI so far?

I dont think anyone is going to get it anytime soon. After all they are "sarkari karamchari" type people.

Looks like everyone has tried sending a mail or two to Airtel and / or TRAI but it seems neither Airtel nor TRAI is interested in giving a reply. Well, I don't think this is working out. :frown:

Well, the same kind of steps? had been taken by ISPs in US as well lately. It's no wonder, that Airtel followed their US counterparts! ;)

I liked the idea of the Newspaper ad issues in the interest of the public. Sushub or anyone with links in the media, please get the details of the pricing and I am sure we will all chip in.Airtel cannot stop us from advertising

Look man, a simple 4cmx4cm obituary in the paper costs thousands of rupees. So a quarter or half page ad (and that too on one of the pages at the start or the end where it would be noticed) would AFAIK run into lakhs.

Guys if you can answer this you have the solution to the problem:

Is Airtel bound by contractual obligations to provide the same service at the same price continously to its unlimited plan customers ?

If YES....find a good laywer and file a case in the consumer court.
If NO...find an alternative ISP who can provide what you want

I am not a lawyer but as far as I know unless they are bound by a contract they can amend/cancel services for any/all customers....and they dont even have to provide a reason for it. That is how private business works....it is not a government utility service where they have certain obligations towards the public (services like transportation, police, water, power supply etc etc)

Good luck

that is why we are working on an petition that can be delivered to airtel. online and offline. of course they have a right to do what they are doing. but it's our right to tell them that they are wrong and as a customer i have a choice to discard them and move to a rival service.
