yaar, this is the problem, i have 512 kbps UL Pan in Noida and till now my speed has not halved. In the tariff pages dont know why noida is exempted from this FUP.

I wrote to trai and DOT expecting this to happen to me also, but till this moment its not happened, so i legally cannot give them my tel. no. :(

The day my speed is halved, i would reply to this mail. All you people who have suffered can send your grievances to [email protected]. Hopefully, we would win :)
AFUP is still not applied to delhi ncr region from what i know.

Admin, some people might not have entered a valid email just for the heck of it or by mistake. I suggest that if possible please put up a one liner stating that email would have to be verified for the signature to go online.

its written there!

After you have added your name to this petition an e-mail will be sent to the given address to confirm your signature. Please make sure that your e-mail address is correct or you will not receive this e-mail and your name will not be counted.

i noticed incoming hits from digit forum :)
Yup! Posted a sticky thread there :P

Anyway, i think we should ALL collectively bombard airtel CC with the entire petition (with a link to the site).. Lets see what they reply!

I have been with this ISP since the days of Touchtel (Before Airtel took over), never had an issue unsolvable. Its been unlimited plan since May 2003. Cant believe Airtel would do this now. Sad for a developing country like ours.

I have signed the AFUP petition. Hope Airtel comes up with a good action plan.

Anyone got a idea of when Railwire would hit Chennai?

I don't know what they hope to accomplish by this. This clearly indicates that they don't have enough bandwith, but are too cheap to do anything about it so they incorporate a limit instead and piss off power users who actually use their so called broadband to it's actual capacity

****ing bunch of idiots with 12 year old IQs shouldn't run companies.

My guess is they are trying to retain or grow their business customers over the residential ones. Less hassle & more money, this segment typically would not download all that much (or am i mistaken?)..

Does FUP apply to business customers as well ?..if so they would be a good group to get onboard.

With hogs off i'd imagine their QOS would be stellar.

This also implies they are not seeing any gains in expanding the residential sector, as far as internet is concerned. I'm a bit stumped as to the reason here.

Is this a prelude to IPTV ? or some other service that would be adversely affected by congestion.

Whether this is temporary or not remains to be seen.
