Me too received the god damn letter today from airtel. Threshold..blah blah blah.....Even 1 GB a day would be enough for me...Tata Indicom is way better giving 45 GB pm on 256 kpbs UL....thinking of taking BSNL...will that too join with these suckers...any suggestions

Unless TRAI & Minister of telecommunication take action, soon we will have 64kbps broadband & 1GB data download/month & after we reach that limit, we will have to apply for new connection. Welcome to stone age.:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

tata kicks you out after crossing the limit. airtel slows the speed down :P

look at the limits of higher speed connections...

384 - 70GB
512 - 80GB
1024 - 90GB
2048 - 105GB
4095 - 125GB

the more you pay, the less you get for your money :)

Yeah, the Tata FUP mentions about termination of services on repeatedly exceeding the threshold. But I doubt if they would actually do that or if a situation would arise where a consumer would continue repeatedly exceeding the threshold after warning from the ISP.

Disconnection or no disconnection, their limits are so better than Airtel. In principle I am against any download caps on UL connections but I wouldn't mind if Airtel gave me 45GB on my 256kbps UL.

64 kbps!!!! ur greedy(lol)....how about 28 kbps dial up speed?:yahoo:

on my night unlimited plan(MTNL 849NU) my downloads goes 200-250GB but i use internet less than for 4-5-6 hours. And i don't think so, they can provide same fair service to all users with this policy, and they only need to upgrade their infrastructure as soon as possible before customer will kick on their Ass:confused:.

When TRI will complete their procedure and study for dealing with this ISP in this manner.:frown:

And Also WeLComE To The StOnE AgE..:O

i was quite late to notice this as i am in haryana where it has not been implemented as yethowever, has anyone seen the new limits of FUP??1 Mbps till 100GB, 512 kbps beyond 100GB512 Kbps till 100GB, 256 kbps beyond 100GB384 kbps till 75GB, 256 kbps beyond 75GB256 kbps till 50GB, 128 kbps beyond 50GBthese are from the karnataka plans ,, they seem to be different than the earlier onesalso, has anyone realised that airtel does not give a DSL connection, but gives an ADSL connection in which officialy(atleast thats what i was told while taking the connection) the upload speed is 1/8th the DL speed, acc to which, the max data u can transfer comes to256kbps - 89GB(36 kB*60*60*24*30)384kbps - 134GB ((384+384/8)kb*60*60*24*30)512kbps - 178GB ((512+512/8)kb*60*60*24*30)1Mbps - 356GB((1024+1024/8)kb*60*60*24*30)just copy and paste the above calculations, without the outermost brackets to google to see the results urselfso, while the limits for 256 384 and 512 are now tolerable, 1Mbps limits are still bad,a;so i dont see the point of same limits for 512 and 1mbps!!!it would be a better idea if they gave a choice of constant 256 all the time or have the option of speed boosts , but once the 90GB is reached, limit the speed, that way those doing casual browsing would get high speeds, while those requiring stable speeds during heavy DL would get them as well
