Ok seriously WTF is going on with Airtel. I just checked my DSL usage for this billing, its around 17 GB uptil now. I am on the Explorer 1099 plan (384 Kbps daytime, 1 Mbps nights) and my speeds in the daytime are down to 256 Kbps. And trust me on this one, this is really a limitation from Airtel's side, not my side. I called up customer care, and I got the usual bullshit ("router ko off karke on kijiye" "DNS servers check kijiye" "Ping kijiye" etc) The guy confirmed that the FUP for my plan is 100 GB and that I've not crossed the FUP limit. But he refused to register a complaint for the speed problem. He said "hum to tab complaint register karte hain jab aapki speed BAHUT kam aa rahi ho". I was totally WTFed by this. Night time speeds seem to be fine, though. I'm getting 1.05 Mbps currently.
In Delhi Region New Fair usage policy for 1 Mbps unlimited plan is 15 Gb after that speed will be reduced to 256Kbps. This is ridiculous.:wall:
visit link below Airtel Fair Usage in Delhi for 1Mbps Plan
1)Select region as Delhi
2)Now Select Faster Plans(speed up to 1Mbps)
3)scroll down to other details and click on notes
there it is clearly written that fair usage limit is 15GB for 1Mbps plan
so after talking to the advisor technical i was told that to write a written letter to "advisor economics CN & IT"
THE TELECOM REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF INDIA
THey are aware of Fair Usage Policy and i also told them that there are no guidelines of Fair Usage Policy.
please everyone if you write a letter and post it to this address they will take action.
I had written to them 2 yrs ago about reducing my upload speed and i got a reply and the airtel managing officer even called me.SO if we all write letters in a formal language we can force airtel to change its unethical marketing

also do have proof eg printing the airtel tariff and sending it also to TRAI
well airtel is pretty unreliable with their implementation of FUP. one user should have a FUP of 100GB but he is facing lower speeds after just 15GB of data transfer.
