Check out Speed Boost Again!!!!!!! getting 2Mbps+ on 512kbps

In short, the FUP enforcement used to be a hit or miss affair. For nearly 1.5 years I used my connection which had a FUP limit of 5GB without any usual restrictions @ 2mbps (and that too for 499 per month). Nowadays I find that they have enforced the policy on my account (not just in paper but they have set my speed profile correctly now).

At the same time, if you go through that link, you will find a couple of other Airtel BB subscribers who claim to obtain higher speeds with their connection. If the stars are willing, you may obtain a speed boost on your connection too.

So now airtel is including uploads. This sucks. What i am going to use torrents for?.30 gb for rs1300 is to expensive

They have as far as i know always took both into account. Thats why i keep the upload speeds limited to 1kbps in my torrent client.
So, what about meeting the ratio requirement of 1:1 ?

Leechers suck!! if everyone does that u wont be able to d/l anything. ppl should keep a min ratio of 2 else keep away from torrents n d/l from http sources

1:1 is for Leased lines not for Residential connections.
I think it might be 1:17 For Residential

Judging from torrent speak above, I believe he is talking about ratio required by private torrent trackers and not contention ratio?

FUP even when uploads are reduced would be exhausted in ~1 week. After that one can again release the restriction on uploads & continue seeding...
