Airtel Broadband now has special plans in Chennai because of ACT Broadband

I m using 16mbps 1499 on 8mbps speed.
my plan reads 8mbps/512kbps

but they changed modem downstream speeds

earlier it used to be 10500kbps now its only 8900kbps.
 
Yeah.. Considering it.. Most likely I will get 40 GB one at 1099. Test it for a month or two and downgrade bsnl to basic plan
 
I got a call today from airtel saying exclusive offer for privileged customer. 8 mbps upto 60 GB post FUP 512 kbps plus unlimited local calls and 100mins of STD calls at 1199.
Right now i am on 4 mbps upto 8 gb with 100 local calls free.
That CC rep didnt say about the 1099 plan.
 
Got connection. 1099 - 4 Mbps 40 GB post 512 kbps - about free calls I tried to reconfirm at customer care, they said details not updated yet as brand new connection. Though he did hint it should be either 1000 local or "unlimited" calls free

i checked with Airtel customer care via Email. They didnt know details of these plans.
 
I think they are either not told about these plans or are told that special plans are given on case to case basis and you are not to share them with anyone. Just be aware of them in case anyone having that plan calls in and ask details. As such they probably just read what it says on customer's profile. Same will be true when someone calls in who has some very old plan..
