Hey all,I use Ubuntu and wanted to get ports forwarded in the Beetle 220mxi modem.I dont mind getting it set to bridged mode provided someone can tell me how to get the dialing option set in ubuntu.Btw, I know there is a post on port forwarding on the Beetle 220mix modem already, but the problem is that my modem page looks totally different. I have no option called "advanced options". Maybe its the latest firmware. I am unable to even see NAT and Firewall settings!

I did goto the 192.168.1.1 page and find nothing called advanced settings.. i'll check my firmware and see if i can upgrade the same or something...

A guide to port forward Beetel 220BX - TechEnclave

1.Wait ! did you try 192.168.1.1/main.html there is a difference with 192.168.1.1 !
2.See the screen shot.
3.Are you on Dialer Mode ? then you may get only DMZ settings.
4.Go to WAN page and select PPP/PPPoE and deselect "Bridged" Enter UserId and PW in the modem page.
5. In Browser type
http://192.168.1.1/scvrtsrv.cmd?action=view
if you get message Page not supported , go for FW update.

6. Post Device status page.

thanks bro! just realised that the main u mentioned actually made a difference!!i'll follow the thread now and check how to go abt it..I want to be in dailer mode.. that will save me the trouble of port forwarding (bridged mode).. but.. i have no idea how to configure a dailer in ubuntu.. :(

the second link posted by essbebe is correct.. first link is for dial up connections.. basically you go to the terminal and type sudo pppoeconf and follow instructions..

i guess i'll try the ppoe thingy..I tried the port forwarding thing.. I went to virtual server.. and put the port and the ip address (192.168.1.2).. but.. the torrent client still kept saying that the port was blocked! anyways.. the dialer with the bridged mode should solve that issue..

also add the port in Advanced Setup --> Security --> Ip Filtering --> Incoming ... if you havent done that yet ..
