Airtel charging for toll-free numbers in postpaid

I have used 1860 as well as 1800 on Jio both work & no charge. On Vodafone many times 1800 would not work.

i guess they are absorbing the costs assuming there is no concept of prepaid balance in jio? like there is on airtel and vodafone? hard to tell as i have not personally used jio. i do remember that during the free period, jio users were not able to make calls to these premium numbers and they were asked to add some balance to their account or something.

Unsure what their reasoning is, cause even on Jio Postpaid, they don't charge even though it's categorised as Premium.

I just tried calling IndusInd 1860 number and my usage stats show the cost as zero.

Also, Jio does have the concept of prepaid balance, you could top-up your account.

Airtel Landline also charges for the Premium Numbers.

Vodafone also doesn't charge for 1860 series numbers. Only airtel charges for 1860 numbers.

EDIT: Also can confirm that calling 1860 numbers from jio is absolutely free.

Airtel was not charging 2 months back, but now their thief instinct has again kicked in. Chor tel or Voda chor, you have to decide who is the biggest thief/cheat.
