Have been using airtel since 10 years and this issue happened just 5 months ago all of the sudden getting 120 ping instead of 45 on middle east servers .

Upon researching found out that some sea cable was cut by a shark, and all indian ISP's had 120 ping to ME servers because of re routing .

This problem has been fixed 3 months ago and all others ISP's are back to their original routing except Airtel.

Contacted their customer care and they dont even know what latency and routing is . Am stuck with 7 months of more airtel broadband and its literally unbearable now.

Thousands of complaints on gaming forums yet airtel doesnt seem to care .

Is there any way to fix this problem?or will i have to keep dying in games for 7 months?

Anything related to routing is in Airtel's NOC and there's nothing we as end users can do except raise service requests at 121, or via the app, or email their support address or escalate to nodal officers for your region. Check here: Nodal Email

That is never going to help. You should go through the proper channel as @Chip pointed out. BTW, do you mind sharing the example IPs where you see latency of 120ms?

@raghav_xd 1 more method of comms is via Twitter. Gets their attention quickly but there's no guarantee it will resolve your issue. Other than escalating via email to the nodal office also put this out on SM.

bahrain servers to be specific , i used to get 45-50ms before.
Yes, you will need to die in-game for 7 months, regardless there are no cable breakages as latencies for me are just perfect.
when i use mumbai ppte VPN i get 45ms ping to bahrain servers but there is high chance of getting bans ingame with using vpn so i avoid it.

all my friends except from mumbai/pune also face exact same issue in bahrain servers

My friend, which server is it?? IP address or hostname please...

@raghav_xd unless you give us the proper hostname and domain OR the IP address we cant check from our end and neither will Airtel be able to resolve your issue unless you know these details. No details = no resolution. So, tell me, how did yuou get that '120 ms' ping value you referred to??

Call of Duty uses AWS for Bahrain, Airtel has a direct peering tunnel from Mumbai to AWS, so the high latency issue is with AWS's internal network and not Airtel itself.
Fornite uses anycast addresses ie, AWS Mumbai, so that should not be an issue.
