Hi friends,Recently when i was just about to trip off my airtel connection, i thought i should talk to them (say dhamki). within 2 days i recieved a call from them where they told me there is a Rs. 499 unlimited plan (512kbps) and a Rs. 549 unlimited plan (512kbps speed + Rs. 150 free calls). But on their website unlimited plan is of Rs. 699 (512kbps + virtually no free calls + 5gb capping after that speed 256kbps). I am a bit confused? Are these plans conditional i.e. do they have hidden conditions or are they SECRET PLANS for a few chosen.......... Any idea. Should i choose these plans or am i choosen to be fooled by airtel.

well you probably talked to their retention department which is known to make such calls with such offers to customers discarding their services. these plans are not available to everone. it is better that you get these package details in written with clear indication that there is no FUP on these plans which would drop the services to 256kbps after a certain limit is crossed. in the end, airtel is also known to forget these special offers after a couple of months (even days in some cases). this is just a trickery to keep you on their network. it is worth a try if you are happy with what they are offering.

There are no airtel plans without FUP, when i told there retention dept that mtnl is offering 1mbps @ 999 without FUP they just refused to believe me & told me that they have info on plans of all isps and mtnl has FUP but it has not disclosed it to the customers. Even when i told them that i have downloaded over 100 gb without any decrease in speed on mtnl they just kept repeating the same thing that all isps including mtnl has a FUP limit and they just cannot offer me a plan without FUP.I told them to disconnect my connection, they forwarded my application but next day i get a call from a different retention rep who again offers me the same plans, this kept happening 5-6 times , when they realized that i wont take any of there plans they said they are launching a new plan in 2 months of 1 mbps for Rs 700 & i should not disconnect now & wait for the new plans , which i am sure is a lie. So never trust their retention dept, they will say anything to stop you from disconnecting & i am sure they will never give you any thing in writing.

100% true. Don't trust airtel. I've experienced this myself. :|

@ livelively I have that plan , they provided me after i wanted to quit on airtel broadband, but it has a 10GB download cap, after 10GB u get 256kbps plan speed (in which u will get 30 kbps as downloading speed). I will dump it soon as i am looking for BSNL 512kbps plan now.

I think it is still better than BSNL 256 kbps plan@ Rs. 499 and Airtel's IDIOTIC Rs. 699 512kbps plan which gas cap of 5 GB. But BSNL 512 kbps plan is best. So if u dont have too much downloading than these airtel's HIDDEN plans are OK for a try (to save a few bucks).
What u guys say?

BUT FIRST I WILL CONFIRM FULL CONDITIONS (to check if there are variations) FROM AIRTEL & THEN POST.

549 unlimited plan? that too 512kbps... I am sure that 512kbps is till 5Gb download limit.. then Post Fup @ 256Kbps.. 420 Company and 420 Biz!

they even dont believed me when i told them that BSNL is offering 512 kbps true UL @ Rs.750....they said i was misinformed & that's not true....

Nah yaar i dont fully agree with you. My local Airtel people are really extremely good when there is complaint, they solve it in few hours. I agree that FUP & throttling system is a total Bullshit and is ruining their business and customer trust.
