Wow... Airtel AND Hathway getting brave in their defiance of the TRAI regulations.

For the record, any connection that's not always on also can't be considered as broadband according to the same set of regulations.

Who cares for rules & consumers after getting popular in Indian market.:impissed:
ex: videocon tariff plans (In mobiles) = best, service = worst
Reliance broadnet tariff plans = good, service = worst
Airtel tariff plans = Worst, service = fair enough

There is not even single service provider in India whose Tariffs + service = Best

Hi friends,
Recently when i was just about to trip off my airtel connection, i thought i should talk to them (say dhamki). within 2 days i recieved a call from them where they told me there is a Rs. 499 unlimited plan (512kbps) and a Rs. 549 unlimited plan (512kbps speed + Rs. 150 free calls). But on their website unlimited plan is of Rs. 699 (512kbps + virtually no free calls + 5gb capping after that speed 256kbps). I am a bit confused? Are these plans conditional i.e. do they have hidden conditions or are they SECRET PLANS for a few chosen.......... Any idea. Should i choose these plans or am i choosen to be fooled by airtel.

A few mons ago ( Sept, 10) I was sick of Airtel charging me a good amount for little speed and limited download limit....I told them to disconnect the connection
as I was thinking to switch to BSNL who had better plans (I was skeptical abt BSNL)....I sent them (Airtel) an email first to disconnect and someone from cust serv called me and asked me why I wanted to disconnect and blah blah blah....In the end he gave me an offer which I think was very good...for 499 pm I got 1 Mbps speed till 5GB d/l limit and after that it drops down to 256Kbps...Downloads are unlimited and I also got 100 Rupees worth free calls to Airtel land line or Airtel mobile phones...This was a good deal and I grabbed it as soon as he said that to me....I am with them since mid 2007 and may be that's why they gave me this offer.....Anyways, I live in United States and my parents use it in India for browsing and watching videos on HDTV and they are pretty happy with the speed....

That's the reason you were happy now. I bet once you land here you will keep whining about airtel in this forum. I was with them from Dec 2004 - Jan 2011. They gave me only this shit plan & i said fcuk off. To me 256 kbps is history.

Speed remains the same (600 kbps(day) 800-850 kbps (night). Happy to get these speeds for Rs.749 when compared to airtel Rs.799 that too for 256 kbps.

I was there for 4 mons for work and used 512 Kbps (at home) at tht time...I did not complain abt Airtel or whinge abt the speed...I have been using 15 Mbps speed for the last 3 yrs and 512 Kbps did not bother me....In India you get what you pay for and that is the reality...
