airtel is a big chor... whn i subscribed to their gprs mobile office, their customer care said, its rs 399 per month on a pro rata basis and you will get 100 mb free in this. after which i used it freely as 100 mb is quite a lot to be used in mobile. i got my last bill where my gprs usage was rs 1200 and my data usage was only 26000 kb. considering 100 mb free it shd be 100000 kb allowed. i called their customer care and then they said tht even 100 mb is on a pro rata basis which means that only 3.3 mb allowed per day(which is too less per day basis)whn some one subscribes to this, they shd be clear of this and anywhich ways 3 mb per day is too less... cummulative you may use it not more than 100 mb bt a restrtiction of 3 mb per day is like cheating a customer after charging 399 rs per month.

I do have gprs in my Airtel connection but I dont use too much so even 3 mb is not used. So actually it does not make any difference to me. But nevertheless, they are simply deceiving the customers.

masterbalstersachin, this is clearly bakwaas. Talk to someone higher than the ordinary customer care person, refuse to pay the bill, inform them you will take legal action, don't be afraid to take legal action - take them to consumer court.Best of Luck.

yeah! threaten them saying that u r gonna drag them to consumer courts..These companies are wary of the consequences they need to face in Consumer courts.

i have this document lying with me from HDFC Bank... its related to non payment of minimum dues on their credit card (not mine but a friend who used to live here for a while).the letter clearly states that if the payments are not made, the bank would be forced to transfer the case to their outsourced recovery people. so basically, it's a threat in a very polite manner. pretty shameful of them.

Just a small point - don't threaten them unless you are willing to back it up with legal action (which I think you should).

sure i can understand your pain.. if you hv time go ahead with this issue. or you can even record a statement from customer care and then use that record clipping as a proof.

do you use the 399 plan entire month? i don't thing so.
airtel gives 399 plan with 100 mb free usage for a month. if you pay rs (399/30)=13.3. they will give (100/30)= 3.3 mb free usage. whats wrong on that? I suggest you to use unlimited GPRS plan in future other wise not.
