Airtel launches Priority / Fastlane Postpaid For 5G

@Kyle Crane Haven't seen the video yet. But from your TLDR it feels irrelevant in the discussion for Airtel's Priority services which is limited to SA only whereas what you mentioned is only limited to 4G for now. Yes Airtel does have less low band spectrum but overall decent mid band spectrum in B1/B3/B40. Additional 700Mhz would have helped but that ship has sailed.

yeah i think he shouldve clarified on how the inadequate low band spectrum would hurt Airtel in priority

It wouldn't hurt them in terms of better latencies & a slightly better bandwidth allowance, and that's what they are really advertising.

yeah they promised up to 50% faster data speeds for RedX customers over standard subscribers, and honestly I have zero issues with that. pay more, get more - that's how tiered networks work globally. China Mobile does slicing at massive scale, AT&T has Turbo plans, this isn't some novel concept.

my house has terrible coverage across all providers. was sitting at 8-10 Mbps earlier, now consistently hitting 50 Mbps on Airtel postpaid priority. upload is still garbage but that's a whole other thread. net-net, pretty happy with the upgrade.

primary number is Jio which is basically unusable at home - no data, voice is sketchy, limping along on WiFi calling. Vi has decent signal but I refuse to go back after they charged me INR 894 in roaming fees (149/month) just for SMS abroad. no other Indian operator does that. So Airtel postpaid priority it is for now.

alright its here on my phone too, but the airtel app still says that priority isnt enabled yet bruh.

My S26 Ultra now shows compatible. SA has been enabled mad working for a while. Only the network slicing shows as not enabled now.

status bar says Airtel Priority but Airtel app says pirority not enabled yet

tho im still getting SA signals and maybe thats why the pings are so low. Tho i was very close to 5G site (far end of the platform)

kinda expected from Indian tech channels, testing 5G speedtest on the same network side by side at the same time (which if you didnt know ,results in a inacurate speedtest)

this video didnt even verify if the pospaid sim had priority actually enabled ,because a lot of people got priority on the status bar but it wasnt actually rolled out for them.

Side by Side speedtests ,No verifying if Phone is actually getting SA signals

I get the "Airtel PRIORITY" label in the network info on my iPhone 15 Pro, but not on the 17 Pro Max. In addition, the SA Standalone option is greyed out for both. The cell status app shows NSA+SA for capabilities.
