Could anyone inform on the post-paid AIRTEL roaming charges for a Mumbai SIM to be used in USA and Switzerland for now onwards? I plan to travel and do not think that the MATRIX.IN SIMs could be any cheaper. I need the per minute or per second charge for USA and Switzerland and same for SMSs. I am unable to log on to the AIRTEL website just now since it seems it is under upgrade or whatever.

Hi Snpexim,
You can click this link : Airtel Postpaid International Roaming Charges, Tariff Plans to view the rate. But the page itself will take more time to load in any browser.

This is the direct link for Mumbai subscribers (Postpaid) while roaming in USA :

Hello, I will be going to UK for about 2 yrs, but it will be a multi trip, meaning I will be travelling back to India atleast once in 6 months, Can you please tell me the way to use my Airtel Prepaid sim back there in London? Also, is there anything like activation of International Roaming, because Airtel on its website says, before you fly Abroad, do check whether or not your international roaming has been activated.... But when I called customer care on 121, they informed that I dont need to activate International Roaming..Please let me know the facts! Thanks!

Now Airtel charges rental of Rs.99 per month for international roaming. No problem.Keep your balance below Rs.99 and enjoy.

Remember that you should send sms from international roaming atleast once in 30 days (even if it costs Rs.25 per sms) so that your number will not get deacticated. Now a days airtel deactivates all numbers which are inactive (no incoming / outgoing calls or sms for 90 days).

Hey, thanks for the response! That was really helpful, I just wanted to know one thing, what If I keep recieving smses on my mobile while I am on international Roaming, and if I dont send any sms from my mobile for 30 days, then, would it still be considered as INACTIVITY?I mean, are incoming smses not counted as activity on my Airtel Prepaid mobile phone?
