Hi Airtel-gurus:

I am currently roaming internationally in Belgium and seeing that I am being charged a *daily* roaming fee of Rs. 99. Also, SMS is Rs. 25 for each outgoing message.

Is there a way to get a cheaper SMS plan for international roaming? I use mostly SMS for communication while roaming. Thanks!

Daily roaming fee doesn't sound correct. INR 99 is only deducted when you make/receive a call the first time.

As always, why not get a local sim?

Thanks. Yes, I have a local SIM. I need the Airtel SIM/phone just to send/receive SMS. Is there a way to disable incoming calls? Also, looking for ways to have a cheaper SMS plan. I didn't realize *incoming* calls can trigger a charge of Rs. 99.

Rs99/- is charged as soon as u get a call or sms in roaming internationally.
Its a monthly charge for prepaid international roaming.
