If the husband was being a bitch to his wife and then coming home early, the company would have been criticized by the women's rights groups from around the country. They would have called the ad sexist and would have asked the government to ban the ad and fine the company for showcasing women in bad light.

Nope. The ad is sexist in a way our 'modern' society is perfectly fine with. That does not make it right. This society also does not believe that men can be raped or sexually harassed.
