Airtel now putting Static IP customers in CGNAT if they use PPPoE

i dont understand how you guys are referring it. PPPoE, isn't it use on bridge mode in Airtel?
maybe i am understanding something different.
Because I am on static IP as well and i am not getting any CGNat issue.

@anmolbhard004 is right! Doesn't matter where you dial PPPoE from, if one device/router is getting a CGNAT IP, the other device will get a CGNAT IP too.

@tr1k0N4 good for you man. I’m getting CGNAT IP in 100.x.x.x range. So goodbye to PPPoE, I’m using intermet with my static IP now. IPv6 is not there but let’s hope airtel implements it for static IP users soon.

Since a while, I am unable to dial PPPoE from my static IP connection. Maybe they have moved it to a different VLAN

So I researched a little bit and for 99% of users it doesn't matter if they are on CGNAT or Public IP. For geeks and advanced users who run servers or need remote access it might be a factor.

@hariselio I have been using both PPPoE and Static IP in the past and it has the following combinations:

Previously:
PPPoE - Dynamic public IPv4 + dynamic public IPv6
Static IP - Static public IP v4 but no IPv6

Now:
PPPoE = dynamic CGNAT IPv4 + dynamic public IPv6. In my case they shifted to CGNAT in Jul-Sept '24 time period
Static IP - Static public IP v4 but no IPv6. Hopefully IPv6 with a static v4 address will be implemented at some point in the future

I've always used my connections in bridge mode as my router runs pfSense. But now temporarily using an Asus router as the main router + wifi mesh.
