hey, sushubh and crazyboy, i believe airtel is symmetric dsl or sdsl and not adsl, right? doesnt that mean you can get both upload and download at 512kbps but you get 512kbps TOTAL... so if you dont restrict your uploads you can get 256kbps down + 256kbps up? so you should try to limit your torrent/whatever program's upload speed to say 128kbps to get maybe upto 512kbps down? or am i totally wrong here...

Well if I get around 28kbps UL speeds and 55kbps DL speeds then isin't that more than 512kbps? Therefore going by that.... we can get both 512 UL and DL simultaneously~!

ya i thot so too, but i seem to recall some really old discussions on the forums about airtel being symmetric...

airtel speeds are equal on both upload and download. for me uploads are faster than downloads. and i am testing the speeds at airtel website with no other application running in the backend.

I get higher upload speeds on all the speedtest sites including Airtel's own! Except on uTorrent... I get higher downloads than uploads! I want higher uploads!Speed test statistics---------------------Download speed: 329440 bpsUpload speed: 414472 bpsQuality of service: 83 %Download test type: socketUpload test type: socketMaximum download pause: 575 msAverage download pause: 41 msMinimum round trip time to server: 55 msAverage round trip time to server: 59 msServer test-----------Server ID #: 449423
