Hey sorry I don't monitor/check this forum actively, but I've gotten rid off my Static IP and my ping times have improved drastically as well. I just wish they did this for Static IP consumers as well maybe they will at some point of time but for now I'll stick with this. For latency I just check on Linode Speedtest pages

Can you share some pings? Mostly to Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Singapore and Amsterdam.

I mostly play CS2 and this is what I've seen so far
BBSR: 2-6
Kolkata: 9-15
Mumbai: 25-35
Chennai: 20-30
Singapore: 49-63
Delhi: 35-50 ish (I've to do perform additional checks but I've never really bothered about Delhi much so far)
Amsterdam: 170
Frankfurt: 158
London: 160
Madrid: 178
Stockholm: 180
Paris: 168
Milan: 155
Tokyo: 130
HK: 110 (if I recall correctly)
US: 250-300
Australia: 250-300

It's almost the same or a just a tad bit better or worse at some cases than the local ISP I opted for recently.
Wefe(AS133695). They probably leased the dark fibers of Airtel and hence get similar results ig?
Although I would say Airtel does and should have better routing overall with more peering locations with CDNs and ISPs.

yeah I've install WEFE at my new house although the plans they have offered me were quite pricey and I heard the engineer mention they had Tata and Vodafone as their up/down bandwidth providers but that's just the word from the on ground technician. Maybe I'll ask around more questions later but the ping times on WEFE from what little observations I did were pretty much similar to Airtel. I was initially looking to get Airtel but they were not live in the area so I had no other choice but to opt for WEFE

They have Airtel, Vodafone, Sify and Powergrid/Powertel as their Upstreams so far as from what I have observed, never saw Tata afaik.
Extreme IX Mumbai and NIXI Chennai presence. They had very good NIXI connection up until last month from what I observe, it has been weird and inconsistent ever since they added ReisNet to their Peers.

Anyways, they have proper functioning IPv6 and overall fine plans, although they have daily limits on their plans which I personally don't like (I hate it tbh), FUP is a problem.
Their Night Plan is good VFM I guess.

Wefe has the best pings so far from every ISP I have used up until now in BBSR. 2nd best being RailTel/RailWire.

I wonder if their Static IP Gateway has changed from Kolkata to BBSR if yes I'd love to have the Static IP Option back in my connection but knowing Airtel it's hard to tell when they will have this available, wondering if we can somehow manage to connect to someone who works at Airtel NOC or someone with deeper understanding about this?

Do you have Prepaid or Postpaid? Would be helpful if you'd lmk when you got the connection as well and how it is going currently.

I suppose it was converted to Postpaid when I had the Static IP but now since I don't have it anymore it's prepaid? I got the connection back in 2022 and opted for static IP around 2023 mid after which they converted my connection to Postpaid I've explained this before in this thread.

bumping the topic again, has anyone managed to get a static IP from Airtel with the gateway itself in Odisha and not Kolkata?
