Invest in a dual band router if you expect decent performance. All of their ONTs are bad imo. TP-LinkArcher C6 is available for 2200 on Amazon. If you want to be little future proof go for the ArcherAX10, costs around 2600. I have been using the Archer AX10 for almost 3 years now and it is a decent router for it's price. No connection drops or anything and range is also pretty good.
I have it's older sibling AX20 (v2) that is used with my local FTTH who gave me a non Wi-Fi dumb Syrotech ONU. The AX20 is connected to that.
Got the router used from a local shop for 500 as they were unable to configure it properly.
Someone returned it after purchase and I got lucky. Been using it for over 2 years now. Got 2 firmware auto-updates and the router is rock steady.
