Anyone here ever used IEC on postal shipments?

From what I know fixed amount of samples are customs free with IEC

I tried recently but didn't work, the IEC was included with the shipment paper work, but they didn't even open the pouch to see it. ☹️

I guess you have to send in the IEC paper work with your shipment tracking ID prior to the shipment arriving in the FPO. As per documentation, to clear the shopnent with IEC you need to file a BOE with the FPO. There is no clear steps on how to do it though.

There is Pricing, but be ready to pay customs at 42 or 77%. They don't even allow you to use your IEC, which kinda sucks.

The delivery guy will ask you to pay at your doorstep. Expect to pay a little more as aramex customs handling charges.

That's as expected, cause assessable value includes shipping charges too. So they might have added the shipping cost. Or if it was declared as FOB (freight on board), then 20% of the declared value is automatically added as insurance and freight cost.

However, thanks for sharing these details about the last mile being through Aramex for buyandship. 👍🏻

PSA: Do NOT Make Online Payment for Custom Charges in Aramex App. Delhivery will slap COD custom charges label on the package then you will have to call Aramex and tell them to convert COD to Pre-Paid, lots of hassle.

It's a matter of timing I guess. If you make the payment before the package is handed over to Delhivery, it will be in prepaid mode itself. But definitely a great suggestion. I was bit by this too, for my package through Aramex ShopNShip a while bacl.
