For me when I paid the amount right after the duty and other details were updated it automatically went to prepaid for Delhivery as well cause at that point it was not handed over to Delhivery yet (I could confirm by tracking the package on Delhivery with Aramex tracking info as reference number)

Anyway it's a tricky area, if you make the payment online and Delhivery tracking shows COD, you need to contact Aramex to get it converted to prepaid as you did.

For my first shipment, I paid the delivery boy again and then got a refund from Aramex cause it was a Sunday and nobody was reachable.

Got a package through Buyandship recently and overall a decent experience. Packages sent to any of their warehouses are first brought to Hong Kong, where its consolidated, processed and dispatched. My package reached their China warehouse on Jan 13th, was forwarded to Hong Kong same day but was received at HK only on 18th (there was a weekend in between). I submitted the request to ship out the package and made the payment same day. The package was handed over to Aramex HK the next day ie 19th.

Package arrived in India on 21st, customs clearance completed on 22nd and is supposed to get delivered today.

The interesting thing is, since my IEC and other documents were already registered with Aramex, even though Buyandship claimed they don't allow IEC, my shipment was cleared with my IEC. However it didn't really help cause the category wise customs duty for the item that I got is 42% or so anyway (same as personal import category )

An unusual thing happened today. I was looking at a product on AliExpress which I liked. I wondered if their payment system accepted debit card payments. I use bank of baroda cards. I clicked "buy" and headed towards the payment page. I chose VISA and entered the debit card details expecting two things:1) I would be prompted to enter my online shopping passwordor2) I would get some "unable to make payment" error saying I needed an international credit card or something.To my surprise, I was given a payment successful page. My immediate thought was that the aliexpress website was stupid. But then 20 seconds later I got an SMS informing a debit transaction. :shocked:Has anyone experienced this? I think my bank screwed me here. Why didn't they ask me for my online transaction password? AHoles!!!

I didn't know this happens on international websites. However, this surely does happen at POS abroad. It never asks you for your pin.

Nope, anything with the destination country as India won't be processed.

I don’t think there is any way at all. You can use services that reship where they give you an address and receive your package and then they ship it to you but that is expensive. If you have a friend or relative living abroad who travels to India frequently then you can check if they can help you out. You can also write to the seller directly and see if they will ship privately to you. Some will agree but there is no guarantee. If they don’t send the item or send something defective, you would have no recourse. I would be ok trusting a seller for a small item up to say 500 but not for anything expensive.

is there any cheaper shipping instead of Aramex from buyandship?

@JamesHolden25 Unlikely, Buyandship just charges 6$ per lb for express shipping. If you get an IEC and combine multiple items, it would be relatively cheap.

And in Buyandship, you can declare any value for the item
