Yeah this is more of an issue for low priced items. If a seller sells a cable for Rs 250 all he gets after Amazon fees and shipping is Rs 135. When importing in bulk, there would be customs duty, shipping etc. Once you add up all that, unless you do this in large scale, I don't think you can sell it on Amazon for cheaper.

Yeah selling small items on Amazon costs more
But I'd have to expect big time sellers get much more of a discount
Also one of the reasons why amazon's own stuff can cost much less than compitition

I luckily brought almost everything I had my eyes on on 11.11

I have no idea Bro..
The declared rate was 21 usd.. Customs would have obviously opened and checked it..
They had a writing UD - 1683 and PF- 30 TOTAL PAYABLE TAX - ₹ 1713

Ok, it was dispatched from Kochi IMC today 🤷‍♂️ Will know about the duty in the next few days, although this is just a cable so it should come duty free. 🤞

Received this package today, no customs duty. The package contained a cable with a declared value of 4 USD.

Technically, they could add duty to this at 41.2% and it would be above 100 Rs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I've another package coming which is relatively bigger in size and would have a higher declared value definitely. Have to wait and see how much duty that would come with.

If the duty charged for that package turns out to be higher than 41.2% of what I paid, I'm planning to return the package to the FPO for re-evaluation with payment receipts and stuff like that. 🤞
