I kind of feel you guys come from network engineering background , apart from homelab hobby what else you guys are aiming for with such an extensive configuration and network gear, like what do you guys run at home which requires such things? ( not judging you cause sooner or later I am gonna indulge in this stuff too :P )

@Realme, yes, I worked in network engineering (in the distant past) and in the telecom and enterprise software industry among other IT hardware and software areas. What do I run at home that requires this kind of setup? Well, it definitely isn't an enterprise class set up, more of a SOHO class (LOL! ;) ) actually. But I am kind of particular about data integrity and safety but more so the privacy of my home network and the devices that use it.

But here's a surprise..I am also a research (doctoral) student so do a lot of reading in IT and Finance areas..2 key areas. But I also spend a lot of time reading on other subjects of interest.

Ok so none of you are married then I suppose? :p

you need a good salary to justify this badge of honour :
Primary ISP: You Broadband FTTC - 200 Mbps 1800 GB/6 mths
Backup ISP/Load Bal. - Tata Sky FTTH - 100 Mbps Unlimited, Airtel VDSL - 40 Mbps Unlimited

" But I am kind of particular about data integrity and safety but more so the privacy of my home network and the devices that use it."

Its great to find a community with homelab hobby (long-time lurker here)

Bro just asking out of curiosity , any ideas or plan to make this site have a subsidiary matrimonial page...?
Like groom will describe his basic needs for a home network, we will match that with a matching bride's home network. 😬😬

@Realme trust me, I am very much a married man 😂 Hehehe!! The reason for 3 ISPs is my work including research and hobbies (Netflix etc) justify it. I hate my home connectivity going kaput.
3 ISPs? That’s really overkill. 2 should be just fine. But I rather have 1 stable. Since my ISP (MTNL) is stuck on max 100 Mbps speed, I am waiting till they upgrade speeds. But I have had zero downtime with them since 1 year I tried them.
BTW Redmi 8 phone I ordered arrived after 15 days with no duty. Guess customs are scared of touching any Chinese parcels. 😂
Now I cleaned it thoroughly with alcohol swipes and kept it under intense sun for 15 mins before using.

That sounds overkill, viruses don't survive long on a parcel that has been on an unpressurized cargo airplane.

I don’t want to take any chances just to save 15 mins. I waz not in a hurry either.

Take this from a doctor - whatever you did is not enough to make sure it's germ free, you might need to keep it in an oven for 10-15mins with a temp no less than 130°C.
😜
