I tried applying for IEC today and got until the very last step. Turns out IEC requires Esign now. Digital signature or Aadhar based e-sign mandatory for IEC after 13.07.2020 . The problem is that my name is slightly different on my aadhar card compared to PAN Card which means I can't get the IEC. Should've applied a week ago smh.

Another alternative is with Digital Signature but I don't really know much about it.

Did all the stuff and made payment, I got the "Application has been approved email". Now I will get the USB key sent to my address right?

I would have gotten IEC under my parents name but it turns out everyone at my home has slightly different name on aadhar card compared to pan card. Such a pain having to pay extra on top of 500 for the IEC application.

@JB700 sooner or later either you've to correct the names or you have to post an ad in Govt. Gazette about name change and other legal jazz.

Otherwise things are gonna turn messy for you.

Talk to your lawyer/CA

The names are exactly the same except on aadhar card, the middle name is shortened to single letter.

But DGFT doesn't like that.

It's not just dgft, get it changed as soon as possible as @Realme said. A lot of things depend on having the correct name on aadhar.
As time progresses it will get tougher and you may get stuck with something useless (if they accept the wrong name without checking)

If you'd like to keep the name as in Aadhaar, you can easily change the name in PAN online to match it. I had done it for my parents (change in name, mostly just the change in ordering of the name, first name to last name etc and date of birth), and it's validated with Aadhaar OTP, so you don't even have to send any physical docs.

The other way around, you'd need to visit a Aadhaar enrolment center I think.

@JB700

eKYC on NDSL is giving me error "Your Request cannot be Processed.Please try after some time". The silly thing is it made me pay first before doing KYC. How does that make any sense lol. I guess I will try later.
