For those who applied for IEC how do you register under proprietorship DGFT asking for my firm's name which I don't have. Is there any way to get IEC for individuals for personal imports. I don't want to pay customs

Not Sure what has been happening recently but 2 of my shipments imported with IEC and GST details through Buyandship have attracted ~44% customs even when the duty on the item should be much less (below is a screenshot of a laptop that I imported, it should have only attracted 18% IGST but I have no clue why I have to pay the BCD and Surcharge :( ). My guess is that due to the "Lithium ion batteries" thing mentioned in description of goods, the customs officials are assessing the item as batteries and not the actual product. Anyone else experiencing the same?

anyone knows y aramex charges extra on service charges , my custom duty is 1102 but aramex is asking me to pay 1668 and has included some scgst for storage and service . ?

So, I am receiving a gift from US. The customs and clearance is to be born by shipper. Now FedEx has called me to provide KYC details. In the kyc, they have option of providing IEC, should I provide mine?

@varkey hey there, are there any alternatives or similar services like shopandship/buyandship but for personal packages aka, cheap shipping options for personal parcels not ecommerce parcels. It's ridiculous Aramex's ecommerce shipping prices are so fucking low whereas personal parcel shipping prices are 3 times the original price.

im trying to import a phone from the U.S. using DHL, has anyone else had experience recently clearing them with IEC? The DHL Site asks for AD Code too which is annoying.

anyone have their kyc email?
