Hello Guys, I took a new TATA Wimax 256 Kbps unlimited connection. I need some clarity on how to get the best out of it. My SNR is for now around 27, because my house is pretty close to one of the Wimax towers, but still i seem to have certain issues when it comes to connectivity...... I would like to get some answers for the probable causes of the problem i have:1) How do i bypass the annoying 'login screen' everytime i try to connect to internet ?2) Is it possible to configure a wireless router to bypass the annoying 'login screen' everytime i try to connect to internet ? - & because i also have a laptop.3) Will taking a static ip address do any good to the connectivity ?Quick replies are highly appreciated....

You can bypass that login screen in case u got a static ip. Static ip comes with a post paid connection and that if u ask for one. Go for a static ip

Got one & the connection is working fine now, i even had PAL & NAT enabled...

Does anyone around Cox Town use Tata Indicom WiMax ? Airtel refused to give me connection saying ports are full.

hey one more thing, they don't charge you until they complete the installation....
You would be giving a cheque to 'Tata Communications' but they would deposit it only after the connection works properly i think....
you can call the dealer at 080 65339900 for more info.

When u take the connection just ensure that the SNR is 20+ (signal strength), i think it's called CINR or something in the modem page of TATA Wimax.

My SNR is 23-27 mostly
but when i leave my system for downloading torrents it just gets disconnected after a few hours & i have to restart the device for it to work properly:mad:, gotta check about this problem with them.

And yes if you get a Tata Wimax u better get a static ip address, have PAL & NAT enabled.

PAL: Eliminating the login page every time you try connecting to internet. PAL can only be enabled if you have a Static ip.
NAT: Using more than one computer with your modem.

I dont think it has anything to do with static IP(EVEN I M NOT SURE).If your session get expired it will prompt for your password and this is in your interest.

If u got a Static IP only then u get bypass that login screen. It means that u donn't have to login to access the internet.
